How do you love rap when rap doesn’t love you back? From Rico Nasty’s harassment from toxic Carti fans, to Saucy Santana's unapologetically femme aesthetics in a queerphobic industry, to the assault case that put Megan Thee Stallion’s entire image on trial, each episode of Louder Than A Riot - the second season of our investigative hip-hop podcast - unpacks the unspoken rules of rap that hold the entire culture back. Tap in to our first episode at n.pr/louder-season-2.

I discovered recently why i often said that i don't like hip-hop/rap and what hip-hop i do actualy like. It seems i love alternative hip-hop(very, very old jazzy one) and i don't like at all the agressive kinds of hip-hop. Regretably that the cool and positive one had to be forbiden by huge interests and big record houses.

I wish they were independent and leave OVO. they are soo underrated and should be bigger.
@taylorhong86605 жыл бұрын
OVO sound radio is what put me onto dvsn when The Line only had 20 views on youtube and it's what got them such a huge following in the first place. Nineteen85 also is responsible for some of Drake's most successful radio hits: Hold On We're Going Home, 0 to 100, Hotline Bling, One Dance, Too Good, For Free, etc. Doubt they would want to stop that relationship anytime soon.
@MRLONG7585 жыл бұрын
OVO is also the reason they won't get any bigger. OVO artist barely get any exposure outside of a Drake feature or airtime on OVO Sound Radio. They have way too much talent on that OVO roster not to be much bigger, instead they are all stuck in Drake's shadow writing songs for him. But then you look at artist like The Weeknd and Bryson Tiller who were both courted by OVO and opted not to sign with them and both their careers are doing better than everyone on OVO combined.
@MRLONG7585 жыл бұрын
TBH if I was a young artist coming up, I'd stear clear of OVO.
@ProfessorRuh5 жыл бұрын
@@MRLONG758 the heck are you talking about? These guys are on tour. They're getting plenty of exposure as for the weeknd and Bryson those two (although I'll give bryson an exception because hes been releasing covers) have been quiet for ages. Assuming all they do is write songs for drake is disingenuous.
@MRLONG7585 жыл бұрын
You seriously gonna watch the sales and streaming numbers of artists on Ovo and tell me they're getting enough exposure. Those guys making better music than most of these artists out here, yet you don't see them everywhere like those artists. That's down to poor marketing from.ovo

Why isn’t OVO pushing this man !!! Drake killing his potential
@spongeaang984 жыл бұрын
Because he knows how talented the artists he has are and rather than give them shine and exposure, he locks them in bad contracts to write for him. It's sad nobody is calling out more often.
