I try to buy old ''Made in West Germany'' tools because that is an even better guarantee of quality, even if more modern tools are made in what was West Germany, I think the standards were higher before reunification, not just for German products too but in general. They don't make things like they used to do. Also the fact that these old West German tools are still around in good condition is an indication of their durability. Without a time machine it's impossible to know if the more modern German made tools are as durable.

I enjoyed this video! I'm in the USA and love my Snap On ratchets but all of my 1/2 drive tools are Hazet. I have the Hazet 916HPL and it is an amazing ratchet! Such a smooth mechanism and strong. I also have a full set of the Hazet 600lg wrenches and the extra length they provide are a big help to me.

Thank you for watching! Yep, Hazet is top German brand, and it is cool that most of their tools are still made in Gernany. It is little expensive, but worth every $$$. Greetings :)))

USA mercedes tech here: some wiha tools i have are stamped Germany, but don't feel as good quality as my other Stahlwille or Hazets i have been using for about 17 years now. Some of my 1/2 in drive gedore impact torx are made in Taiwan, only the e14 says germany, and the steel is obviously different. All work fine, however. Gedore tools are some of my favorite; i think they do the best sockets. Italian-made USAG ratchets have the best knurling of any tool i have ever handled. Most of my tools are snap-on, however, they are readily available and trustworthy. Taiwanese tools are ok for the most part. EZ-Red tools are phenomenal for the price. Great video, thanks.

Many thanks for watching and commenting. Gedore is my favorite German tool maker too. It has much more adequate price than Hazet or Stahlwille. About wiha, i can say that i have their screwdrivers and they are pretty good. I miss Italian made USAG, BETA. Today it is very difficult to dig them, all of their staff is Taiwan made. E-Z red 412SS is in my wish list ;) Thank you very much once again and Greetings from Georgia :)))

Nice video sir. I was on search to buy a ratchet+socket set. I lost my mind and quickly bought a wurth zebra dust proof 1/2-1/4 set. And know that i had the time to search i found that wurth does not make tools. They're not made in Germany. And they were expensive and not enough tools in the set. What is your opinion about the set i bought? I am thinking of returning it back. Kind regards
@W210Garage Жыл бұрын
No Worries. Wurth makes great stuff. Yep, they are not German made, but for the price of Zebra you can't afford German made tools. To be honest Wurth Zebra quality = Price is one of the best out there, IMHO.

2021: If a tool is made in Germany, you will see "Made in Germany" with big letters at a large part of the tool and you will also see "Made in Germany" with big letters and German flags all over the packaging..! If it says just Germany, for example BGS Germany* then the tool is NOT made in Germany, it is made in Taiwan if you're lucky. Wera is also NOT made in Germany *BGS Germany is just a german company. 1995: If we are talking about an old tool (pre 2000) then it may say just Germany or W. Germany and be actually made in Germany but that is never the case with new tools, never.

I have to disagree for a bit: If it is a new(er) tool from a well known German brand with German production, it can be made with old stamps that only say 'Germany' while it is still 'made in Germany'. This especially true for specialized tools that are manufactured in small batches and maybe not even every year. But the simple rule is true: Only if a tool states 'made in Germany' it really is made in Germany. If it only says 'Germany' it can still be made in Germany but chances (especially on new tools) are very slim! Stahlwille has ratchets made in Taiwan for example. Wera has forgings and rough production done in China and/or Taiwan on several products and finishes them in Europe. Facom is suppose to be French but a lot is made in Taiwan. Stated nowhere but same S/BD factories...

@W210Garage4 жыл бұрын

Hi Interesting video here, I'd like to chime in and tell you about a recent purchase I made of a gedore torque wrench, purchased brand new from amazon, it was gedore dremotec dmse 100, (100nm) it was the type with the 9x12 end fitting, the 9x12 bayonet was so unevenly installed it was leaning over about 10/15 degrees also it wasn't installed far enough in so the rubber o ring wasn't doing its job at keeping the crap out, it was too loose, the wrench was a complete joke and had to be returned, I was not impressed to say the least, but this is the bit that gets me, it clearly stated "made in Germany" on the label on the wrench shaft, i just can't not believe a german engineer build that wrench to that standard, and then proceeded it to another engineer for calibration and nobody spotted it, something wasn't quite right, I don't think it was made in Germany I know they have factory in India, ive lost faith now in gedore and will no longer buy their products, i dont trust them anymore, I'm going to try the stahlwille torque wrenches and see how it goes.

Personally i use Gedore Red torque wrenches. They are Made in Germany and the price they cost, i think it’s super deal. Every tool maker has such issues in it’s line, overall to tell the truth, if i had enough money to spend on torque wrenches, Hazet would be my choice ;)

Why is the "made in Germany" written in English instead of German?
@W210Garage4 жыл бұрын
Do not know exactly why, but it is common practice to write down on things “”made in .....”” to tell where it is made. Almost everything (not only tools) have such type of word combinations.
