​@@bippo8901 i think he is referring to an actual formation mechanic like a pike square, that provides actual buffs similar to rome 2. If you do tercio in game currently it gives no buffs, just makes you a target for magic

@@bippo8901 The empires regiments had dedicated detachments where you could add support troops of other troop kinds as smaller squares outside your big tercio squares and they would synerhize. Something like that is hard to really replicate in the game currently but existed in Rome TW

Crazy how much content this DLC is getting compared to shadows of change. This is really looking like the top tier work we were seeing towards the end of Warhammer II. I'll reserve full judgement until I actually get my hands on it, but so far so good CA.

@@awanderer7132 It has a good chances to sell that absurd amount of copies, Empire is getting so much content, and it was still most played faction when IE required to own all 3 games. And that Nuln gunnery school and amthyst thingies can lead to Elspeth being Ikit levels of fun. Also midgets get very nice things with DLC, I dont know how popular faction they are, but I couldnt imagine playing them without DLC, watching my dawi friends having fun with their airships.

​@@walter1383I know. But ironically with how much is in this game. And despite how shitty it sounds, both of those would make for some great DLC for them to sell. The siege rework would certainly be irksome because "why didn't you do this in the first place" but a actual naval battles/fleet DLC would be something I'd gladly throw 30+ dollars at them to add to this game since it would add so many layers of depth and honestly is also something that's understandable why it's not just in the base game.

I remember ever since WH1 released, the Dwarfs had a tech in their tech tree that mentioned how their shields were designed to lock together with the guy beside you. It's so cool finally having an actual shield wall mechanic. That should help prevent cavalry and monsters from just smashing straight through the front lines.

Imagine the shield wall against chaos dwarf artillery. Chanting dwarfen songs, cannonballs pinging off gromril shields, slowly marching forward until you're right up against them and then you get to strike out some grudges!

So many great changes. Trollhammer Gyrocopters, better Gyrobombers, Brimstone Gyrocopters that spit fire (although they still need some buffs as I heard), the Grudge Score system overall and the ability to rebuild the Underway, the shieldwall formation and so on. And then they ruin everything with this strange annoying Waagh mechanic that controls the player instead of the other way around. I really hope that they fix this crap before this goes live. Otherwise I will have to wait for the SFO update to play Dwarves.

I feel like the shield wall is more spread around, such as Bretonnia, Lizardman, definitely empire, certainly high elves as a sort of tech where yes they do get shield wall but get it improved so they can be sort of on par with dwarves. However despite dwarves being vertically challenged, I am atleast glad their vertically challenged problem solvers are relegated to a special condition because the AI would continue to spam them. However dwarves ignoring anti-infantry trait, its been a problem but I do not know if they still have that.

In order to confederate the other dawi legendary lords there should be an alternative if their faction were eliminated consisting in controlling certain holds. K8P for Belegar, Karak Azul for Thorek and the relating starting settlements for Thorgrim, Ungrim and Grombi

Formations!? No way! As a total war veteran, I've been waiting for this for so long. OP against the AI but fair due to their debuffs. I miss defending my town against 2000 sassanians against my puny garrison with my flanking scout equites as ERE in Attila. I hope that this will be implemented to other factions especially the empire. Melee units are almost obsolete in that faction

Personally I like it when the game attempts to line up with the table top version as closely as possible. Not sure how I feel about adding a ton of stuff that is in no way reflected on any version of the tabletop rules and abilities.

Did Ungrim get anything special? There seems to be a wall of silence surrounding Ungrim, both here and in other vids covering the Dawi update. Either CA forgot him, or there's something still under embargo. I really hope it's the latter, because with Gelt finally becoming unique from Franz, it would be a shame if Ungrim remained stuck in Thorgrim's shadow as "the useless guy up north you confederate at some point".
