rather than units i would love to see some mechanics, dwarfs are craftsmen afterall so why can orcs/chaos dwarfs/skaven upgrade their units but dwarfs cant forge better armor, sharper axes or tinker with altilery etc outside of hero/lord equip that you can farm from battles anyway

Instead of just upgrading unit stats how about an effect of some kind? That way it's not just ripping off the greenskins rework and leans into an aspect still not fully used.

The Magma cannons are stupidly OP. Most ridiculous is that the AoE stuns the targets caught within it on top of their accuracy. Makes it more or less impossible to compensate with good micro.

Why? They're already extremely powerful in battle. Their only "weakness" isn't even one of performance, but that the TT didn't give them a whole lot of units and CA have been neglecting them DLC wise. They could use some grudgeraker and drakefire pistol infantry variants, but that's more or less all they're missing.

Norgrimlings always have this tendency too "be dead" before combat even hits due too everyone and their mother focusing them but still stick around for the better part of the battle with 5% health. Their little bombs did help alot with getting the blunders off the field

So I get why it can SEEM like Astragoth should be a large unit, but we are talking about Dwarfs here, and he'd probably not look as tall next to other races. And as far as actual size goes, there are definitely some very large infantry sized characters that are probably bigger than him. Grimgor comes to mind!

I think that mainly is for the fact the elf’s only get the 1 artillery piece. Now I’m not saying ammo types wouldn’t be something to add. But I think they decided to keep them standard ammunition but more specialized in their roles. Cannon being anti large/counter artillery, organ gun anti infantry armor piercing, flame cannon anti blob etc.

Wow that's a bizarre take on the balance. Chaos dwarfs can't get enough of their actual dwarf units and lean on heavy chaff...that the normal dawi just chew through leaving them having more numbers (for once) to push back with. I wonder how things would have gone if the cow had stayed to kill the cannons but that would have left the blunderbuss open to be butchered so probably six if one and half a dozen of the other.

@@xShadowbane451 Hobgoblins are kinda pointless versus Dwarfs, what exactly are they going to fight? You are spending 425 a unit, thats 1275g for units that can't even beat Dwarf Warriors. Add 600g for a Bale Tarus over a regular Taurus when all you are expecting it to do is chase artillery and archer hunting. Imagine the Dwarf Warrior ROR for some staying power, flaming attacks and flaming grenades to hold the line and take advantage of Ash Storm or Renders to run down those archers, artillery and warriors. BUT despite my criticism it was an amazing battle and after the start I was wondering how on earth this was going to be lost.

I feel like if you played this same match 10 times it would come out slightly differently each of those times. Very evenly matched groups overall, and so lots of the variability is down to how they're played and capitalizing on mistakes. Great match!

Seeing how good those blasting charges did even against Chorf infantry makes me wonder if miners with blasting charges might be a good pick. It could also be worth putting a couple of chevrons on the cannons to improve their accuracy, since they seem like a very strong pick against most Chorf builds but clearly struggle to match the accuracy of magma cannons.

Miner with blasting charge or an irondrake are absolutely a good pick against chorf, as their are very reliant on laborer to fight with even number, as everything else in their roster is expensive. In the case of the hobgobbo, I would even say extremely overpriced, as the cutthroat and archer cost almost as much as a regular dwarf warrior and quareller. There is absolutely no point in taking hobgoblin cutthroat, unless you rank already has plenty of laborer or you are not bringing blunderbuss to the fight, as you need something to tied down the enemy that you don't mind shooting through for the blunderbuss, as they kill everything in their firing cone, without discrimination, once they start shooting. Due to their short range and firing cone, there is absolutely no way to not do friendly fire with blunderbuss from a safe position, except for shooting downhill.

That magma cannon is freakin sick! With that said, idk why the dwarf player didnt have the cannons aiming at the magma cannon asap, and have the slayers and engineer not babysitting the artillery. It's a weird play, even if the hobgoblin archers could threaten the slayers.

I think they were one of the flame cannons seen to be dealt by the cannons. But it took a while. Small hitbox and doesn't lose dps as it gets weaker. While normal artillery will steadily lose dps as more crew and guns get blown up this thing can fire at basically 100% efficiency till you shut it down.

So we've seen alot of crazy artillery over the years from the various races, from the Queen Bess Cannon to the Hellfire Rocket Battery, but i don't think we've ever seen a more DISGUSTING and busted pair of artillery options than the Magma Cannon and the Dreadfire Launcher - the fact the first one has very good accuracy and drags in nearby models and the second one has a gargantuan aoe that causes continuous gobs of damage is maddening. In Short - the age of gunpowder has come at last to the Old World.

the dwarves are tuff af. yes chaos has advantage from high ground. total war has always given buff for high ground. if you get gunners tiered on a hill in line nothing can take many volleys. you layer the guns in line like stairs on a hill and have one sword wielding unit to go through the gap that gets created in the enemy line.

Very lore accurate fight between Dawi-Zharr and Dawi, Dawi lose the initial fights and get pushed to the breaking point but they're too damned stubborn to go down for good and fight to the last, outlasting the less stalwart Dawi-Zharr

I dont think so. They're 900 gold a piece and wouldn't be able to get enough damage in before melee. Bring a lot, sure, but you'd need to bring chaff as well.

With regards to damage reflection, have you played the rotblood tribe mod? The whole roster has it, including diseases peasant type units who do no other dmg. It really showed me how powerful reflection can be. Its very situational though and only worth it on units with low melee defence, and ideally high entity numbers. Great vid mate
