Germany is flooded with cocaine. Since 2017, cocaine residue in Berlin's sewage has doubled. Since the pandemic, sales of cocaine across Germany have rocketed. The addictive potential of the drug is often underestimated and legal prohibitions do little to deter dealers or users.
This documentary sheds light on new international smuggling routes and methods that are causing ever greater problems for law enforcement agencies. One indication of the rising wave of cocaine: although the number of controls in Germany has stagnated, the amount seized has doubled in recent years. In early 2021, customs investigators in the port of Hamburg made the largest cocaine find in Germany and Europe to date: 16 tons. Where does the cocaine come from and who is profiting from its smuggling and sale?

I was hooked on cocaine for 8 years. I had to stop drinking alcohol and associating with the people I did before I could stop taking cocaine. I’ve now been clean and sober for nearly 9. I’ve gained everything since quitting drink and drugs. I’ve brought a house, started a successful business and own two cars and bike. I had none of this while addicted, anyone can do it you just have to want it enough.

Decriminalise, regulate and tax it. The tax and the millions that wouldn't have to be spent on customs and police could fund any medical and social services associated with drug use. "The war on drugs" has never and will never work. Pushing it underground only makes gangs rich and makes it more dangerous for users.

Thank you! As someone who has struggled with addiction this is the answer. Street drugs make street people rich. Set it up so the government can regulate it and tax it. Invest in rehabs, and prevention . Policing costs too much and only gets a small handful of the streets.

In the Netherlands, we face exactly the same issue in major cities with substantial quantities of cocaine drug trade and street-level gang wars fought in public spaces with explosives. Belgium shares a similar story, with municipalities grappling with the common challenge of widespread involvement in drug trafficking, particularly among North African migrants.

@FactStorm they do but it's a double edged axe. It'll greatly negate drug lords, but physical addiction by the masses will greatly harm the health of the country. No doubt millions would try hard drugs if legalized. The legality does keep many people from even smoking weed like myself. I've done it but I have a life to worry about. Good job with good pay but no drugs. Even if they were legal, they'd still destroy lives.

@IHWKR 10 ай бұрын
@msdadsfsx yes they do, and even that still doesn't work. Watched a documentary a year or so ago about heroin addicts in a certain spot that don't get bothered by the cops or something. I can't remember the name of it, but they're just wasting away in the streets just like here in the states. Wherever there's drug use, there's usually crime and societal decay (barring the offense of drug use, of course). I'm pro organic drugs like weed, mushrooms, dmt. But I still see the problems each has on people. I believe in freedom, but I also believe is policing our societies of legitimate wrongdoing and deterioration of society. I'm not saying there isn't a country or group of people who can defy the odds. But in terms of Americans, almost all of us lack self control. Our society is works off the ideology that we are all individual kings and queens, ruler of our domain and over others. We are extremely childish, selfish individuals. There's little to no hope that legalizing drugs will better society. It really is a catch 22 as it stands right now in my eyes. But generally illegal drugs is probably the lesser of two evils. Even decriminalization doesn't help but may even exacerbate the problem. Complex stuff for sure.

People WILL get addicted no matter what, no one can "save" them, indeed a 80% of violence come from the substance being chased that much so the making the profit insanely profitable (i buy for 50% of the price i sell to newcomers for like 150% or more). Also many of symptoms described in the video are opioid's symptoms not coke's, coke being that expensive push people to other stimulants....and there are a HUGE variety to choose from!

Everywhere in europe cocaine is around you can get it delivered within 20 mins at any time of the day. A lot of people do it, and i would almost go to bet that there are more people doing coke these days than there are people smoking weed. I never tried and never will, never been interested in behaving the way people that take it do. The reason i think cocaine is working so well these days is because people are egocentric and want to have the cool feeling and being hypped etc. And if they didn't have coke, they would have boring lives because they most likely have no passion, no hobbies, low self esteem, and most of their consists of them being fake to most people around them, work or home. It's all fake. People are sad. Coke is fun. Weed makes you think about your life and it can hit hard. Better have fun ;) Not that i care, just my side of the story i guess. We might all agree on the same things, but for different reasons. Or disagree :)

Make it legal to be obtained from a pharmacy as prescribed by a medical professional for those that are already doing it, for example. Prohibition against drugs has proven to be harmful and ineffective. Look at Asia. It's a disaster. Best tools are preventive measures, medical health infrastructure, and secondary prevention for those that already are on drugs. Don't make them go on the street buy their substance of choice.
