I'm glad that the reporter was honest. Most food reviewers say they love the dish even when their facial expressions betrayed their true feelings; all because they don't want to offend the host.

Remember she is German, hurting someone’s feelings is less important than being honest for most people. Here in Germany the polite thing to do is being upfront and honest about most things, as opposed to being agreeable and smiley. As a South American, even after 5 years and a German wife I still grapple a bit with this kind of politeness vs the one I grew up with.

We Albanians love the combination of ice cream and boze and it's understandable this German girl is not used to it. Actually, boze alone is a great drink but I've noted nowadays they make it with grains whereas best boze is made with corn, yellow corn and of course a bio version if you can get it in Albania as food is being destroyed there too with the influx of GMO seeds, pesticides etc. It's really sad what's happening there just to make money! Bio seeds before 1990 have been vanished with the exception of various villagers who still have been able to save them and to find them is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Sorry, but she doesn't have to like all flavors for it to be international. Now, if you must hear only positive opinions, you can try almost every other channel which will say every food is good even if they don't like it. I also find some Albanian dishes hard to like. "Unusual" is not the same as bad; a bad combination can be original or unusual, and it doesn't make it tasty, with all due respect.

Albanians have a light breakfast? That must be a modern thing, because our breakfast are as fatty as they come. Lots of pastry with cheese and the good old dhalle! And then what did they do to the fli? Sweet fli? Who’s ever heard of anything like that? Interpretation indeed, but definitely not the real deal. The real fli is salt and savoury. Wtf 😂 talk about ruining the traditional Albanian cuisine by bringing in some fusion of some sorts.

A bit insensitive to label a dish as tasting like it’s gone bad just because you’re not used to it or have a limited palate in this case. It’s like blue cheese, someone who tries it for the first time may say that it tastes like something’s gone bad. But then one might build a gradual liking to it over time.
