Wow, just wow. The thing you said about the cupping of headstand was incredible. It explains why I was struggling with my pincha mayurasana for a while. I learned the hard way but I really wish I would've seen this video back then.

So nice to watch you doing it. I saw different teachers showing different ways of placing the head in shirshasana, Iyengar shows it the way you show it... But I think this is the matter of anatomy, the length of the forearm and the upper arm, the state of the neck... I found it safer for my neck if I hold the back of my head and my neck is a little curved backward. Maybe I'm not into it yet, but it seems safer. All the best to you.
@YOGAthletica6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input. And thanks for always watching. Personally, I believe the neck is safest when the cervical curve is neutral, but if that doesn’t work for you, you always want to do what makes you feel safe. :)

Hi shana I can't lift my head up when In asana and when touch my head on floor I can't lift my upper back pl guide 😔
@YOGAthletica3 жыл бұрын
Hi Satya! It is hard for me to tell you what is holding you back without actually seeing what you are doing. Not being able to lift your head can be the result of quite a few things, some of which are: elbows too wide, shoulders are too tight, arms may not be strong enough or pressing down enough, you may not be looking forward enough, your stance may be too long...and more. My best advice is to really pay attention to all the alignments I mention and maybe video yourself and compare it to what I am doing. Many times it's simply that you have to be patient and keep practicing. Not all poses will come in a few minutes or days or months or even years. Sometimes you have to persevere for a very long time. 🙏🙏🙏

Hey Shana, do you have a video in kicking back up to Sirsasana from the drop-over sequence? I can't seem to do it from the floor, can only do it walking the feet up the wall, a foot or two, and kicking up from the wall. Any tips?
@YOGAthletica4 жыл бұрын
hi mike! 🤗 unfortunately, i don't. but i do have one on how to do it through handstand...i don't do it from headstand. my neck is too vulnerable. 😢 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqm9pZ2rqbifr7c
@mikedemasibass4 жыл бұрын
Ah, I'll give a check at that video. Though hand stand is still very challenging for me to balance for longer than a second or 2, haha. Though, how about dropping over from and jumping back to Pincha Mayurasana? Is that possible? Or is it made difficult because of how more compact in the shoulders it is? I ask because Pincha Mayurasana I can, at least, maintain balance for a while (not to mention, forearm position would be similar to the classical Viparita Dandasana form (and from and to Sirsasana I).
@YOGAthletica4 жыл бұрын
@@mikedemasibass you are hitting all my sore spots in one comment! 🤣 yes, it is very, very possible from pincha mayurasana, though ever since i tore my shoulder (millennia ago now!), i have not been able to do that transition, either. i can do pincha all day long, but my shoulders are completely stuck when it comes to flipping back up from chakra bandhasana! 😖
