Swedish father and Finnish mother, and he still has relatives in Finland whom he visits. his father's father was a Swedish volunteer in the Finnish Winter War and the Continuation War and had permanent injuries after the war. And his mother's father was Finnish who fought in the Finnish military. He also has papers from the judgment signed by Carl Gustav Mannerheim himself. He would like to see Finland take back the Karelia, he surely means that right should be right. Then I myself have friends who have Finnish roots, but some are divided in their opinions. Depends where you stand. But if it is correct, it actually belongs to Finland. But I don't know what Finns think and think and have an opinion about it? only you can answer them. Same thing, my great-grandfather had signed up as a Swedish volunteer but never came to the front, then Had Finland and Russia signed a peace treaty, I know that my grandmother was very worried about him going to fight

For a start, it means that the Baltic Sea is now a NATO lake, and Russia's Baltic Fleet is a very expensive, easily blockaded, and likely short-lived, waste of metal, manpower and weapons. It's not a NATO lake. There's nothing called that internationally. Russian fleet and submarines are still in the Baltic sea and they'd navigate freely unless some country wants to take the step to declare war, no NATO country would. Trump is blocking more aid because it is tied to the border security issue and he wants to campaign on Biden not taking care of that. If our politicians did the right thing and stopped gambling with people's lives over Oval Office-winning talking points, we would have a better government.

Both Finland and Sweden were officially neutral but cooperated with NATO since the 1970s. The demise of USSR in 1991 saw Finland equip military with western planes etc rather than Soviet stuff they previously bought to keep balance.

Well, when it comes to Sweden their neighbours hope that them joining NATO means we do not have to defend Swedish airspace in weekends anymore as we have done for "neutral" Sweden for years in weekends where their fighter pilots are off. It´s true! Danish fighters jets have for years made sonic booms passing my home in weekends because they were heading for Sweden to turn around Russian fighters violating their airspace. Swedish fighter pilots are few and not paid an competitive salary, why most leave as soon as their contracts are over, to fly higher paid commercial jet positions! I truly hope that stops now, so I do not have to hear sonic booms while I see my tax money flowing/flying to Sweden to protect their nation because they refuse to have the basic decency to pay what it cost to protect their own airspace in weekends! And Sweden produce own jets! I have not written about this during their application period but now are the time! Step up fast Sweden, please. Maybe your media have not told you about this, I would not be surprised, but it are the truth! Train pilots and do it fast! Edit. And if Trump instead of being at Guantanamo takes residence in the White house then maybe we even want to buy some submarines and jets from you!

200 years of neutrality is a lot to abandon, that is how serious they see it. Congress needs to stop farting around. NATO members need to stop farting around and start gearing up. Even if you're not meeting the 2% now just getting the AF into fighting shape is a large step towards that. Get those basement dwelling, game playing, snack eating boys working part time and living at home conscripted and trained just in case. We need a compulsory minimum service of 2 years and 4 for those without advance STEM degree potential.
