I love the Rhine River. We went kayaking on the Rhine and I took many boat tours. So much fun. When i got a car I drove down to Bingen and people watched. I loved visiting the lorelei too.

I have been blessed to tour it. I truly felt like i was in a fairytale. Born in a South African rural village, i dreamt i would have such an experience

Was there a travel or river cruise 🚢 company you went through? I’m disabled and would love To tour but wondering if there’s disability friendly company I can go thru!

@ArghMatey it was by car with a friend. She paid for all the expenses.

I went on a boat trip along the Rhine in 2008 and had the most wonderful time. The scenery was breathtaking and there were little stops at villages and festivals along the way. Memories to last a lifetime ❤

The biggest merit of this documentary is the highly condensed information it and yet, it is its biggets flaw. I ended up dizzy and confused , too much to take in within 50 min. The usual style of your documentaries, which I praise, is the "slow pace" and relaxing emotional experience the viewer get from them! Thanks a lot, anyway.

The word 'beautiful' is not enough to describe those villages, cities, castles etc.

I was fortunate to travel by train along the Rhein once in '91 and again in '98! It's majestic! If time and money permitted, a train journey where you got on and off for exploring the towns and villages along the way would be a trip to Germany by itself!

I would highly recommend reading 'The Rhine' by Ben Coates. It is an interesting book talking about his experiences and information about the regions of the Rhine. Apparently residents were encouraged to purchase home and business insurance in case flooding occurs, alongside an automated messaging service to warn citizens in advance.

Such an amazing compilation of different parts of the Rhine. I happen to live in Rotterdam where the river ends :)

You left out Neuss, one of the oldest German cities opposite to Düsseldorf, and Duisburg, the third biggest city at the Rhine with the biggest inland port in Europe, Ruhrort, where the Ruhr flows into the Rhine at Rheinorange. Before the Rhine reaches the Netherlands, there is the Lower Rhine region around Wesel.

Yes, it's true - there are still many beautiful places on the Rhine that we could have shown.

Great idea to dedicate a video to the Rhine river. Unfortunately, there’s a mistake in the segment about Basel. The second shot shows Zurich, which is not on the Rhine.

Dunno, although it is indeed beautiful, people have altered the natural flow and the surroundings over most of its length. So I'm missing its own way, its raw beauty.

In the netherlands, the rhine stays the rhine. Called the lower rhine. Then you have a part called old rhine near Utrecht. The rhine ends near Katwijk aan zee. So the dutch part isnt complete or true.
