THE icon of a forward-looking, now-unified Berlin!

I toured the tower in late December 1989. It was an interesting time to be in Berlin.

Should visit in 2025, I like to visit Berlin, and never been to Germany before. We have the same kind of tower here in Sri Lanka (Lotus Tower/ Nelum Kuluna) and it also has a revolving Restaurant on the top. 😍

I was fortunate enough to go up to the observation deck about 6 years ago. I'm not sure I would pay to go up again when I visit Berlin, it's become a little expensive, as have visits to many tall buildings worldwide 😞

Hannah, what is the name of the mustard-yellow-green colour that is so pervasive in German architecture, on houses, clothing and artwork?
@DWTravel3 ай бұрын
Which color do you mean? Can you show us an example?
@bengt_axle3 ай бұрын
@@DWTravel It is something like Pantone 112 (you can just google it). In the 90's, living in North America, in a suburb I had a German neighbour. When they moved in they painted the outside of the house that colour. I also learned later, that they paid cash for the house with their life savings, so as to have no mortgage. Is this also common in Germany?
@bengt_axle3 ай бұрын
@@DWTravel Pantone 112 or something even more yellow.
