I don't mean to harp on any youtubers, but why do other toy reviewers have to be really harsh and blow things out of portion when they review Power Rangers toys like this? I don't blame them for getting mad at some things cause I'll admit the Ninja Steel Megazord does have some quality issues. But whenever I see a toy reviewer being overly negative, it just makes me want to get away from them cause I feel it's pointless to get angry at a toy. This is why I like Bruno's optimisitic and positive look on Power Ranger toys. He says some good things about the toys, but he still points out the flaws and problems, but he just laughs it off and doesn't mad at it for having these flaws. He does it in a calming way, where I respond with, "aw well, nothing's perfect anyway" instead of "jeez dude, calm down, it's just a toy." I'm sorry, but there is such a thing as too much negativity to where I just wanna stop watching that person's videos just to get away from it.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it past the part where you "broke" the Dragon's arms using pliers, because I died. Am dead. That was freaking CLASSIC. I lied, I made it all the way to the end. Excellent review, addressing the concerns others have had. It's quite telling that you made such a strong point of saying we know what to expect from a BoA megazord, and the top comment below is saying it's missing a lot of paint, they're so lazy, Japan's isn't missing paint. *sigh* I think that's a lost battle.
@MrSero-vz6uy8 жыл бұрын
OrangeRangerVideos The BoJ version isn't missing paint because it's more expensive. The missing paint and changes in the zords are cost-saving methods so parents don't have to pay more than $40 for a megazord.

@MrSero-vz6uy8 жыл бұрын
Scott Parker In Ninninger, the components were the Ninningers' favorite things when they were kids. The other reasons were that the designers were fed up with consistent mecha designs and they wanted to make a big mecha based on past mecha themes together as well as representing things from Japanese culture "Cool Japan".

Would love to invest even more on my collection, but living in Portugal, we don't get even half of the toys that you guys get over there. I always try to buy what I can on promotion, but even then, the shipping cost and import taxes drive the price up. Managed to buy the Legacy Thunder Megazord on Black Friday for $66, but shipping + import tax made the price go up to $160, which is its standard retail price in the US, but that's the life of a collector who lives in Europe, where almost no one cares about Power Rangers or Super Sentai /: Anyway, just giving my 2 cents. Honestly.. I'm more of a fan for the japanese versions nowadays. Was a huge fan of Power Rangers when I was younger but that changed. Even though the Ninja Steel Megazord is in so many ways inferior to the original (matieral, paint, size in some cases) there is actually a little thing about this thing that is BETTER than the original. The leg articulation. While Sentai Robos are usually bricks (literally for Zyuohger xD) this buddy there actually gives some nice leg movement and it really looks cool. Imagine Sentai would start to do this with the same quality they're doing right now (except Zyuohger which are still just bricks)

There's nobody who knows the toys better than me, it's kinda my thing ;) Overdrive is where molds began changing. But go back to season 1. Stickers were all wrong. Season 2, Thunder Megazord really suffered, losing a bit of color, and again, wrong stickers. Not just stickers though. Look at how many toys also lost lights and sound, die-cast & chrome, as well as paint. Ligthspeed Zords look great. But when you get the Japanese, you'll notice the difference in the tires on the Lightspeed Megazord (which were rubber in Japan). Wild Force was a great line, but Gaoranger still had more paint/stickers/etc. So, in nearly every case, even when the molds were shared, the Japanese toys still had a little more goin' on.

You and your repliers are BOTH right. Ninninger was a "soft" anniversary (the 40th YEAR, but the 39th SEASON) so they did one zord for each "class" of zords; humanoid, vehicle, animal, mythical, and transit. In the show, it was explained that they were based on the Rangers' favorite things as kids. However, they look pretty bad, and the fact they don't share a common theme (ESPECIALLY not Ninjas) really bugs me.

I think the zordbuilder argument is invalid this time around due to the Ninninger toys' large amounts of combination compatibility, leaving the price as the only thing this version has going for it. But that's just my two cents.
@AgaiLazen8 жыл бұрын
My biggest gripes with these simplified megazords is that their new transformations will always clash with the show, which is asinine because the transformation sequence (that's probably shown in EVERY episode) is supposed to teach you how to work the toy. American kids will be scratching their heads at the separating legs, or the non-changable blades.
@MMPRtoys8 жыл бұрын
I have a feeling American kids won't know what they're missing, if they don't already follow Ninninger. Plenty of kids still don't know it's a show from Japan, and these days, it's a lot harder to tell.
@AgaiLazen8 жыл бұрын
Sure, they don't know about the Japanese version, but I'm talking about comparing the stock footage from the show (which is shown on both sides of the pond) to the toy. I imagine there are a lot of kids who are thinking "Hey, the toy doesn't work like that!" when they watch the show.
@MMPRtoys8 жыл бұрын
I think most kids can figure it out. Kids who are under 8 or 9 weren't alive to know the transformations were more accurate in Japan. Over here, they understand the toy looks a lot like it does on TV, but this is a toy, and what they're seeing on TV is "real." Now, if they were watching a show that used the same toy they had, and then they bought the toy and it worked differently than TV, that would be a different story. If you want to confuse kids, add some extra legs to the Lion Thunderzord in just one scene and never explain it ;)

This is the year everyone noticed we have model trains, do VFX, have lots of stop motion, build sets, beat toys people think will break too easily, etc. We've been around for almost 10 years now, on KZbin. Not sure why everything is being noticed all of a sudden. A lot of people asked me about the megazord breaking, so this was my response. Now it sounds like there was only one person who actually had the issue, but 100 people could have seen that one video and then come to me with concerns. I'm not here to "throw shade." @lincolnbeckett87918 жыл бұрын
Honestly, zord builder and being made for children should not justify how terrible these megazords have become. Not even talking about the paint (which is still very lazy but at least livable) but they are straight up missing parts, bad configuration and missing features that should be standard if they want to even remotely represent what they can do on TV. Ever since they stopped using the Japanese mold, the PR megazord line (excluding Legacy) has declined to the point of stupidity. My 10 year old nephew who (unfortunately) came in to PR during the Samurai area, cared more about of the zords could fold than if he could swap parts. That's why we have axillary zords. When I showed him my collection of zords from Time Force to Mystic Force, he never saw the new megazords the same why again. It's just sucks so much that the younger generation has to be given such cheap products as standard. Im not saying they need to be Japan or Legacy level, but this is just sad. They can do much better than this rubbish. Why shouldn't they make their zords to the same quality as their 5 inch lines. Now the figures I will definitely say are better now than the ones during my time. P.s Im not old, im only 18, but you get what I mean. Sorry for the long rant.
@lincolnbeckett87918 жыл бұрын
Also, while yeah I do consider the US Megazord bad, the concept behind it in general doesn't make any sense. Nothing in Ninninger made sense. In all honesty, I consider this one of the worst line in the Sentai series for zords and megazords. And this is after ToQger. That's saying something and the creativity that's going into Super Sentai.

Bruno, since you were talking about the Japanese shuriken being too big for the Ninja Steel megazord. I was wondering have you tried the candy toy shuriken? would they stay on the Ninja Steel megazord? Please let me know and Thank you.

Just noticed - the handle for the American sword, is it an H or + cross-section, and if +, is it lego-compatible?

So were there complaints about the Dragon Zords arms online, or did Bruno just feel sadistic today?

I know why the megazord is disappointing, Greg from bandai minus from bandai is no longer from bandai

might need something but the "hat" is better than japan's because it is smaller and looks more like it belongs

The Amazon price for the Japanese ninniger megazord is great i think for what you get , might get the America one for dragon mode since I got the ufo guy on my Japanese one

Thank goodness Bruno is the only reasonable person Every one review on this is so harsh and I think there over exaggerating I couldn't stand baltmatrix rant. It seem so silly
@Conbot-qs5xk8 жыл бұрын
I actually like it when people give harsh criticism (Might just be the movie critic in me speaking though) It helps list all the reasons of why or why not to buy the toy. I do enjoy Bruno's less critical reviews from time to time but it's nice to see some harsher stuff.

Well, I don't just hate everything. These are toys. They're meant to be fun, they're for a younger audience. You have to keep who they're for in mind when doing the videos. But sometimes, there are just things that could have been done better or differently w/o really affecting the price.

Seems like they're getting further and further from making zordbuilder work. No zordbuilder on falconzord, dino charge megazord having so little zordbulider compatibility with the legs, now this megazord has leg connections that just completely can't work with other megazords...
@MMPRtoys8 жыл бұрын
Can't Plesio work with this? How about Clawzord...? Seems like there are others, I have to play with it more.
@TheSupremeStriker8 жыл бұрын
MMPRtoys Fair enough though I feel like the less zordbuilder interaction between seasons is kinda inevitable, with each sentai season mecha having more of a gimmick nowadays (Kyoryzin with the special arm connections, toq- oh other special limb connections, ninninger with the whole seat thing, zyuohger in general). Though personally I'm happy each combination is getting more unique.

Hey, can someone tell me where he got all those red ranger 5 inch figures? I found legacy figures, but they're 6.5 inch and they wont fit. Thanks

Wow. Maybe you had an American Goseigreat that had bad QC. Mine wasn't floppy at all. A bit loose at the waist connection, but that's it. As for this, I can't see why Bandai America couldn't have had proper Power Stars/Shuriken across the board instead of the foam crap for the sword and the differently molded plastic ones for the Megazord hats (AND not having a proper one for the Ninja Steel Megazord's Dragon Mode)

I have five US Gosei Greats. They're all the same.

***** Ouch. That sucks. Guess Bandai America really has been taking notes from Hasbro the last few years: craptastic QC and even worse distribution.

A couple of other reviews have gone up that really TRASHED this thing on its quality, complaining that it won't stand up because of how the legs bend and the Dragon's arms came off really easy. Seems like he watched and addressed those concerns.
@adamchaplin97028 жыл бұрын
we wouldnt have quality issues if bandai america would just go back to using the japanese molds again..or at least used the same plastic japan uses
@MrSero-vz6uy8 жыл бұрын
Adam Chaplin That's not going to happen. The economy isn't how it was 20 years ago and the usual price for a BoJ DX mecha is around the $70-$90 price range.

sadly, i wish i had gotten megazords before they started cutting more corners than just paint and the odd electronic feature, instead my first MZ was the high octane. (i wish i was rich, i seriously want engine-oh G12)

Are they not able to use the Japanese molds anymore like they used to do? Or do they just choose not to?
@henrywong9978 жыл бұрын
The Logical Choice Bandai America chooses not to so that they can reduce costs. If they used the Japanese mold, they would have to sell it for twice the price. That wouldn't sit well with parents buying megazords for their kids.
@MMPRtoys8 жыл бұрын
Sucks for Bandai a little. Adult fans (mostly) just want the Japanese toys. If Bandai were to sell the Japanese toys, those same people would just complain they're the same as Japan (but still lacking paint) and they'd still want the original version anyway, and by the time the show comes to the US, that season is cheap on Amazon, and Bandai America wouldn't be able to compete with the deeply discounted toys that are actually better quality (but of course didn't start out that cheap, someone is just trying to get rid of them).
