I started my husbands locs on a barely grown out fade lol 01/01/23. So one thing we did t have working in our favor is LENGTH. It’s been hard keeping his hair neat. I’ve been practicing the locsmith technique but again, there’s not much length. So I’m thinking that we’ll start this. My question is, are we stuck with this method in the long run?

You mentioned with low density hair shouldn’t interlock. So I have low density hair and i have eczema on my scalp so I need to be able to medicate my scalp. What maintenance would you recommend for low density peeps like that?
@DXlocs3 жыл бұрын
If you are most concerned with thickness you shouldn’t. If it does matter to you, you absolutely could interlock. An alternative is crocheting the roots instead of retwist and interlock. I’ll have a video on that coming up
@bettywalston23812 жыл бұрын
Although my hair is neat It's newly interlocked and I have mixed feelings about it. I got this done for my first retwist. It's neat but I believe I'll palm roll going forward. @DaniahOrlee2 жыл бұрын
The technique only hurts the hair if you do it too tight or if you cause holes and never fix them. Holes are created if you interlock the same direction twice in a row. Left and right or top and bottom. But you can fix it by interlocking in it the opposite direction
@amrayabaptiste29332 жыл бұрын
@@DaniahOrlee hi. How do you fix it by doing it in the opposite direction? For instance, if I go top bottom, top bottom, to rectify it do I go left right, left right, then go back to top bottom, left right? I hope I'm clear. Lol

I love you videos and have learned so much. Thank you for sharing. I have a couple of questions regarding interlocking. Do you have to palm roll after interlocking and what if there is a bump between the new growth and interlock? Im not sure if the bump is apart of the locking phase. Thank you again and I look forward to your reply.
@KB-bz9dn2 жыл бұрын
the only way there would be a bumb when interlocking is if the rotation was done a bit improperly resulting in a knot or the bumb and no you do not have to palm roll after interlocking. that’s a whole different method to retwisting in general and not related
@ksanders6978 Жыл бұрын
My 4 yr old has shoulder length locs. Initially I was palm rolling in between hair salon visits. Well I went 3 mo or so, without getting his hair done. I was caring for it at home. Not palm rolling though- as I felt I wasnt keeping the integrity ofbthe loc. The loctitian tells me now that he has to do interlocking. Is there another option? He has alot of new growth - maybe an inch. Can I just palm roll without interlock? He has wavy texture hair naturally
