Hi I know you posted this video 4 years ago and I'm not sure if you'll be able to see my mes. But I just found you recently as I want to dye some cotton yarn. It's my first ever trying out hand dyed yarn so im trying to find as much info as possible. What id like to know is ,Is soda Ash the same as baking soda or washing soda? And I have a 700g yarn hank in one piece, should I divide it into 100g or its better to leave it whole? I really would like to try and speckle my yarn as that's my favourite style of hand dyed yarns. Thank you in advance.

I notice from the prior tutorial there is no cross. Are you warping this sectionally onto your loom, if so are you just pulling it through a tension box? Many thanks!

Can I dye cotton in hot water over the stove, Just like they do with wool?
