Thanks for featuring us! Both your (Raise 2 and Defy) and our (Riser 60 and 80) tenting implementations have their pros and cons: - Aesthetics: We think yours is prettier, although looks are subjective, and nobody has complained about Riser’s look. - Robustness: We’ve seen photos of broken legs on your products (maybe short-term manufacturing issues), but none of the Risers have ever broken. Except when DHL drove a forklift over one :) - Height: It’s tricky because the bottom of the UHK is parallel to the switch plate while yours closes at an angle. The UHK plate-to-bottom distance with Riser is 24mm. The plate-to-bottom distance of the Raise 2 with the side legs unfolded is 18mm around the bottom row and 22mm at the top row. - Extensibility: Once someone purchases a Raise 2 or Defy without tenting, there’s no way to add it. Riser, however, allows later extension. - Ease of initial setup: Yours is easier to set up initially, although the tenting legs confuse some folks (nice touch adding the label there). Riser 80 has foldable thumb screws, which allow toolless assembly, but the initial setup is more time-consuming. - Ease of long-term setup: Riser hands-down wins here, as (un)folding takes moments versus (un)folding many legs and finding their positions. If the keyboard is stationary, this doesn’t matter, but if it’s carried often, it makes a big difference. As always, there are no flawless designs, only tradeoffs. Keep it up! PS: Since you’re kind of a reviewer, if you promise to take good care of it, we can provide a Riser for free. Pinky promise! But don’t you dare copy it! (You wouldn’t, but it may look good on your bookshelf :D)

Thanks for the comparison UHK and Dygma. This helps alot

Oh! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. We agree on almost everything; I would only add that your design adds a bit of height to the keyboard when set at 0º. Just like it happened with the tenting kit of the original Dygma Raise. And we'll gladly take you on that offer; we promise not to copy it!
@UltimateHackingKeyboardАй бұрын
@@DygmaLab Riser adds height to the UHK when set at 0º, indeed. But if Riser is assembled to the UHK, the user will use it at an angle. Otherwise, Riser is not assembled to the UHK, in which case its height is not added, and the UHK is slimmer than Dygma keyboards without Riser. So, the added height of Riser at 0º is only relevant for transportation purposes. It's also worth mentioning that although the tenting mechanism of the Raise 2 and the Defy is nicely integrated, along with the underglow, it adds some height to the design, although not as much as a separate tenting accessory. Do you have UHK palm rests? We'd also send a rubber and wooden palm rest if you don't.
@suy21Ай бұрын
That is a more than fair reply. Thank you for taking your time. To be honest, the reviews that Dygma makes look so unprofessional to me, given how biased they are. I rarely bother with most of the videos because of that.
@DygmaLabАй бұрын
We designed the new tenting solution to be foldable precisely because many people asked us that; they wanted 0º for gaming and then tenting for typing. But there are tradeoffs, of course. We don't have palm rests. We do have some of the thumb accessories; very neat! 😊

I really Like my Defy‘s tenting. The first Defy I got was a bit wobbly in some positions but the Dygma-team replaced it and even shipped a new one before I retuned the wobbly one. That was great service. The new one has no issues when it comes to tenting. It’s elegant and robust. I really like my Defy and although I was veeeery frustrated the first week - this was my first split keyboard - things are going well now 😊

I really love my Defy, but what annoys me a bit is its tenting. The main issue I have is that due to the tenting feet, the touching area is rather small and the keyboard is always moving a bit, so I have to re-adjust its position frequently. One of the legs also has some of its rubber chipped off (due to usage/sliding), resulting in a small wobble. I am not using a desk mat, the Defy is sitting on a bare table (though I might consider using one to mitigate these problems). My Defy is using the "C" position, with some tenting and reverse tilt. But overall, I really like the solution! As you said, there is still some room for improvements! :)

I am using a Defy now because of the way better tenting solution. I had a Keyboardio Model100 before and I liked that quite a bit. But I was fiddeling with that Octo-Stand all the time and that was really annoying. Love the tenting on the Defy! Really great - and the hinges are quite stable, they do not "fall" in my case. At least not as easily as shown. Thanks a lot for this great piece of technology

I was going to just buy the basic setup because the fully loaded setup is crazy expensive compared to the Microsoft Natural KB I used. However, after watching many reviews of (about 5) other products in this space, I realised that Dygma Defy's tenting solution is the most elegant and portable. I think I have my Defy for about 9 months? I'm about as fast as I used to be on the MS Natural KB now and have carried my Defy for a few overseas trip. Really love my Defy.

I like my Defy's tenting, but I miss the Raise 1's kit. I didn't mind the extra cm in height (it wasn't uncomfortable and I could still cram it into the travel case), I loved how rock-solid it felt, and in retrospect, I love that the legs clipped in so they didn't fall away when you picked up the keyboard and you didn't have to pop out any extra side legs. I look forward to seeing if you can engineer the best of the Raise 1 and 2's tenting kits into one elegant solution, especially if I can retrofit it onto my Defy.

Personally I like the Dygma Raise 2 better, I would like that in future models they could implement modular parts as well as the UHK 60, maybe some small screen that tells me the battery time, the time or some other information, that the aluminum part has a dark metallic version and that it has more colors and materials for the Palm Pads maybe a wood or wood version maybe as in the UHK 60, and that also make that when both parts of the keyboard are joined the Palm Pad does not look split but looks like a single piece as well as the UHK 60 or 80, and finally some adaptation for gamers, otherwise I really like your brand and maybe in the future you could expand their project to mice as well.

I miss my first ergo board the Goldtouch with its 30° tenting that led me to get a Raise as a replacement when I needed swappable switches Theirs is an elegant tenting solution with the corners of the boards attached with a ball joint Not as flexible as totally split, but remarkably solid and never moved around. I miss that And I might have got more done on it before I got distracted working with layers and customizations 😂
@DygmaLabАй бұрын
We should get a Goldtouch for the colection!
@babyblocАй бұрын
@ The new version of their portable one, the Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile, looks interesting Maybe it improves on some issues I had with the last one. (Which wasn’t as sturdy as their original portable, and didn’t tent as high) The bigger Goldtouch is kind of clunky and I don’t find it as interesting but might be worth comparing because they’re cheap
@nonagoninf9 күн бұрын
The ratings are pretty arbitrary. For instance, the Glove80 does get an F for tenting, whereas a bunch of fixed-tenting angle keyboards like the Logitech, Advantage 2, and Voyager get a C. However, you even mention while covering the Glove that with the legs all screwed in, the Glove has built-in tenting (even more than the Voyager with the fixed-height pucks). So, if you don't do anything with the Glove80 legs (screw them completely in), it would work as a fixed-tenting board. So from that follows that the Glove80 should at least have a C rating. Probably higher, because in addition to that it allows more tenting angles.
@DygmaLab9 күн бұрын
You make a fair point. Maybe the cumbersome system got the best of us. If it was not there at all we could have given it a C like the Advantage 2.
