I love that the billionaire (Damian) despite having the pills available to him decided to give Mark his life back, Damian knew that he himself lived his life through and that Mark's was cut short. In 2015, someone I consider a parent died and I was devastated. I watched this movie the week of that funeral and in some small way, this helped my grief. The movie obviously is about moving on, not trying to cling to a life that has run its course. The movie has an unreservedly good ending and was what I needed at the time, so it may sound strange, but I am absurdly grateful for this movie exactly when I needed it.

If anyone is interested in stories like this there’s a manga called “Heads” where a normal guy gets mixed up in a bank robbery and takes a billet through the head. He wakes up in a special hospital where they tell him he miraculously survived. Turns out the bank robber shot himself in the head and they used parts of his brain to fix the protagonist. Slowly the mentally ill bank robber starts to emerge within the protagonist. Its a super good read really fucking dark too.
