Old Villedor was actually the last location to be made for the game, and in a hurry too, after scrapping Elysium and the expansive map areas. This part of the map was such a late addition that no dialogue (besides story) actually exists for this location. (All dialogue relating to the Bazar was when it was actually in the Central Loop) One of the cut areas was the space around the PK Citadel, where now there is only 1 outpost available, originally the entire area upt to the castle was playable (the PK ship was added very late to poorly replace the castle functionality). Carnage Hall was originally where the observatory was, and the latter was originally a separate area. (similar to how the prologue is) Elysium was originally north-east and blended seamlessly into Central Loop, but was cut, (and poorly at that, infact you can still see the 3d pause map has a large chunk of missing mesh. So yeah, simply put; Techland screwed us over hard.

Thanks for that interesting insider information. Despite the remarkable improvements by the two updates Gut Feeling and Good Night Good Luck the erasing of Elysium like carnage hall and castle and its story of Williams renegades vs Matt’s peacekeepers is still a massive loss. I wished you could cooperate with Williams and his renegades but cutting Elysium made him irrelevant. The PK 🚢 replacing the 🏰 is a real deterioration. I wished - instead of Elysium - Techland would have cut the Old Villedor part, the first 3 - 4 hours of the game are real strains, the Old Villedor story part just doesn’t want to end. Aitor vs Bazaar is such an uninteresting story. I don’t give a damn about who controls the area, I am just happy when arriving at central loop. 😂

But still why in the actual fuck did they cut Elysium? The whole fucking district was sorta finished, I understand the lead writer quitting and Chris Avellone being fired, but they could've just replaced the story with Elysium in it

They had old Villedor and central loop with quests and story while elyseum just stayed in place troughout the development with no quests and Playable content in It. It was too late to change the story and create content for elyseum, that's why It was cut.

Pk citadel itself was not planned to be a Playable part of the map. Rather an area for the final quest "castle party" separated by a loading screen. I don't remember much info regarding old Villedor, but i know It was there from the start and a part of the story.

If all this gameplay is from 2018/19. It's clear Villedor was already sketched out, but by the looks of it the movement and parkour animations were quite different. The monkey bar jump looks like what we have as of right now (Animation has changed since retail). And by the looks of it the gravity looks normal too. Oh and the UI. It still looks like that very simple and clean look from E3 2019. By the looks of it more and more stuff is going to come out about Alpha footage and Techland are going to start changing things and readding things from E3 2019. Look at those huge windmills too, they look pretty badass.

Man, it's really obvious that they lost a lot of key artists and writers at the worst time during development. You can just feel the difference in the "vibe" that this alpha footage emanates and the "vibe" that the retail version gives. You can fix bugs and flawed gameplay mechanics but you can't bring back the feeling that they were going for at first before it all went down. They really were going for a post apocalyptic "modern dark age" setting which is showcased by the ambient music with the broken instruments which (from my knowledge) are nowhere to be found in the retail soundtrack. Pretty much abandoned this cool setting and went for the lamer, lighter more colorful tone in the retail that lacks as much detail as it deserved to have. Another cool detail that appears here but not in the retail version is the fact that the ambient wind gets muffled when you start using up your stamina.

You can sorta return E3 yourself, weather/city lighting preset is in the files, although I think city file for e3 was fucked up at the latest patch, you should use 1.00 version of it

What bothers me is why they couldn't just use Dying Light 1's, err, "skeleton" for the foundation of Dying Light 2 - but just integrate it into a new map. Like, you had a perfect game already! Seems like they started from scratch with a lot of things. Or cut out things that were already cool. Really boggles my mind.

You clearly don't know how much effort was put into the soundtrack of Dying light 2 Stay human, and therefore you clearly lack the knowledge on the soundtrack of the 2nd game, you can ask anyone in the community about the soundtrack, and you'll get the same awnser and that is "it's really awesome, it pays homage to the first game alot" like dude there are soundtracks that I listened to in dying light 2, some are diffrent, but then there are soundtracks that literally feel like they took from the first game and made some changes to sound even better, and as well the dynamics of the music is very complicated, I suggest you to go on the official dying light yt channel and go watch a series that goes over in depth about the development of the OST, and this is a fact that am about to say, if there is one thing techland didn't slack on, it's definitely the soundtrack, it's a massive step up from the first game and am interested what music will be composed in the future.

This unreleased track in this video for example actually pays homage to Dying Light 1... Any of the really good stuff was made because of Chris Avallon yet they fired him for false claims that have not been proven... Hence why only some of the original soundtrack is in the game... They removed all of his work which was the real original Dying Light 2... They didn't work hard for shit... They just used some of what was left of his work and then added their own lazily half assed baked stuff that a 12 year old can make on a sound app
