Very good. I do this too and it helps to add something extra to Gadget tracks. If only Gadget allowed auv3 effects

You can have the advantages of Gadget without the limited fx. Export your stems into Cubasis, add any additional sweeps etc. What I also like to do is add Grand Finale to the master effects channel instead of using Cubasis’s brick wall limiter. Greatly improves the sound IMO.

I have refinded / changed the workflow a bit, nowerdays I use Cubasis mainly for recording Hardware synths and setting up a project that I import in Cubase. Gadget can also be used to control hardware synths with Taipei, which is very usefull with Volca's. Cubasis allows me record them from the midi that I export from Gadget. I mostly do a rough mix in Cubasis first (just levels and EQ) and finish the mix on the PC with Cubase.

Great video. I like that you only talk about what you are good at, not trying to act like you know everything. As a hobbyist you are better than many youtubers that present themselves as professionals. Keep the videos coming. Have you tried Auria pro? It is a real daw like you would use on a laptop with most of the features of a protools type of software. You would like it a lot. It takes a bit of time to grasp all the stuff, but not so bad. It's worth it. You can use it to easily record a band with multiple microphones. Have you ever tried Caustic. If you like gadget, you will love caustic. It has been around since the beginning of iOS.

Cubasis DOES have built in instruments .. Micrologue which is a great sounding subtractive synth, Microsonic which is a rompler with some very useable patches, Minisampler which is a decent sampler, and Classic Machines which are old classic drum machines. What Gadget has are the Korg plugin synths like iMono/Poly, the ARP, iM1, etc., but those can easily be used in Cubasis via IAA and virtual midi cables .. I do it often. In the end what ever work flow works best for you is best, for me I love the Korg synths .. but seriously can’t stand Gadget. I’m really hoping Korg converts their synths to AUV3 so we have state saving ability in Cubasis (or Auria Pro and Nanostudio 2) Thanks man for making this video .. I’m sure it will help many 👍

I am on your wavelength. But everyone has their preference as far as workflow. It's a comfort thing. I like Auria pro because it is so powerful but most people go for Cubasis, for some reason I can't understand since Auria has so much more. But it's comfort. I guess Cubasis makes people feel at home and Auria intimidates. Auria has incredible built in stuff like a Fabfilter synth. The company that makes Auria is the one that created drumagogue. Have you ever tried Caustic? That's a fantastic app similar to gadget. I used it way back in the days of the blackberry playbook. It's free to run in windows and is exactly the same as the iPad app.I like to try new ways and am always open for a change. Good suggestions! Isn't KZbin amazing for getting ideas from all over the planet.

You are completely right about that, of course. I guess, what he meant to say is that Korg Gadget gives a large and nearly self-sufficient amount of built-in instruments, while in Cubasis, sooner or later, you will depend on external instruments.

If there’s a way I don’t have to quit that Gadget workflow, I’ll take it. And god those Korg synths are delicious.
