Yes... it is very interesting and layered... It immediately caught my attention when the LP was released in Jan '75... My immediate reaction was... this is an odd song for this setlist... Just Dylan being Dylan... We have been blessed to have lived during his time and experiencing his musical poetry and commentary... I wish he would do a daily news podcast, that would be interesting.....

I actually believe that Big Jim is represented by the Jack of Diamonds rather than the king, the card personality description fits even better, and also big J( for Jack) is "no match for the jack of hearts" like in the card game, cause hearts beats diamonds. [The jack of diamonds card is described as either wholly material or highly spiritual. He is money consciuous, will always find ways to make money or looking for and finding the thing that pays off. Must have a productive profession] -> IMHO this fits like a glove. What do you think?

Reflect on the bigger picture of the situation. Big Jim was the man - law unto himself, controlled everything and "took whatever he wanted"... Historically, the person with this kind of power and authority was a King.... By definition: King is the title given to a male monarch and is an absolute monarch if he holds the powers of government without control....
