how to defend in ea fc: top pro youtubers beat their brains out to figure it out and pass the wisdom down to the casuals - we still don't quite get it, or we do but it takes massive practice, focus, and brain and muscle memory to pull it off. how to attack in ea fc: take the gamepad for the first time in your life. run and/or pass in a straight line right through defenders (who always seem to have better things to do than get that ball). score. edit: extremely appreciate the effort behind the video. great tutorial. time stamps are a huge help. also, this is probably the best fifa tutorial i have ever seen.

You are a clever man, but I will teach you something after playing FIFA for more than 25 years. If you tackle your opponent with a standing tackle, the ball will more often bounce back to your opponent or out of play, for him to start over. Good defending is not rewarded in FIFA. So that means that the best defending is not to tackle. Not to overcommit but simply follow your opponent and let him run into you. Remember a standing tackle is manuel. And EA will not let you win the ball if you read your opponent perfectly with a standing tackle. And that’s a fact… 😂

Quick question: im on Xbox and when trying the jockey tapping technique I hold LT/L2 and try tapping RT/R2 but my player still moves at slow speed as if they are in a constant LT jockey/slow jockey instead of an intermediate mix between slow and speed jockey like in the video. Not sure what I’m doing wrong because I can only seem to either slow jockey (LT) Sprint (RT) or speed jockey (LT+RT ) not a combination of both 😢

Good job bro but I have a question… when you playing for a country far from server and the opponent is close then how is this possible to apply these tactics… ???I mean I just played 2 fut drafts with good teams and my players stack when that opponents passing through them and I know how to use jockey..you press lest say ⭕️ and the players do that after 2 seconds when that opponent is attacking the goalkeeper … my point is that this game is not fair at all you can win an opponent 5-1 when you play close to each other and when he goes to his country you can loose 3-0 … I don’t know if this game deserves analysis goo try though

Struggling with keeping possession after making the tackle.. my head says use L2 to shield, but noticed that once you break up a play on most occasions your pressing L1. Not to player switch, but after you manually go for the tackle. What does this do? I’m not sure it was explained. Thx.

I have a question about advanced defending and seal out challenges: a lot of people have spoken about using the seal out challenge and the player making a beeline towards to the opponent, how exactly is this triggered? I've tried a few variations of the input and I just can't seem to get this animation. As I'm aiming towards the defender I want to approach, am I tapping the pass button or holding it? All I ever seem to get is my player reaching out their arm as if to pull the player back, even when they're goal side of the opponent. They never seem to do anything resembling the approach that I've seen you and other youtubers using. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Okay im not dylan but i think i can help. What you wana do is hold the jockey button and when the opponent is around 3-4 steps from your player, hold the seal out button and they will jump in and turn around which will seal out the player from the ball. When youre running side by side with an attacker, dont hold seal out and instead, tap is to slow them down so your defence can get into position. Otherwise, they will cut back and have an easy goal since your CBs arent in position.

Dylan, amazing video, i have 1 question though, im an okay player, last season around 750 SR in elite and a lot of 20-0's, but ive changed R1 and X in defence. So teammate contain and normal contain. Now advanced defending is introduced this is a problem lol. I always thought its akward to hold R2 and R1 with your index finger, but since today ive found out pros use their middle fingers for R2 and their index finger for R1 lol, What about you? Also R2 for middle and R1 for index finger?

Shouldn't the whole thing just be better though? If the AI understands space in both an attacking and defending sense, isn't that preferable for everyone? My main issue is - as soon as I'm out of possession, my main thought is how do I stop the players I'm not in control of doing something unbelievably stupid? ... Oh and I can't win a header in my own box to save my life - I either get in position and somehow do nothing, I get the absolute wrong person, or no-one has tracked any runners. Half of the goals I concede feel like I've been cheated and half the goals I score feel lucky. All the assisted options are basically sabotage. So much of it is just illogical. All these tips are genuinely useful, but I honestly feel half of them are - how to deal with ticks in the game
