@@TurtleChad1 The funny thing about you people, is that you show your true colours sooooo fucking fast it's crazy, so you like what Nick Fuentes have to say and you have a boner for the USSR? You're either the most obvious troll, or you are just actually retarded.

People who think that the scramble for Africa, or any major colonialism apart from maybe India for England and the early Spanish-American colonies, was profitable in any way, seriously don't know history. First of all, the scramble for Africa was an imperial vanity project. It was a net loss for those empires. European empires were able to colonise the Americas and Africa, because they were already rich. Do people not understand that it takes an immense amount of resources to even do it in the first place? arguably the horrible treatment of the native Americans and the Africans was exactly to recoup the cost of the colonisation itself Also, Denmark did have African colonies, we just either sold them or lost them in war to England. The last one was the Danish west Indies, now known as the US virgin islands, and yeah we are not proud of that one. Not that we are proud of the others, but i mean, we lost them in the 1700s so i don't really have any feelings about it.

You could make a pretty salient point about the sheer level of wealth the French extracted from its colonial projects especially in Africa. And how that insane level of wealth at the end of the colonial era was the only reason France got to remain a world power. I mean, from a historical point in the pre-WW2 era, france had a much lower level of industrialization compared to its neighbours. They didn't really establish a manufacturing core. Not like british Steel, Germany parts, Italian engines. Of course every country had a lower level of all manufacturing. But they didnt really have a standout internationally recognised product or part of the production chain when global shipping became a stronger economic driver. Id never really considered it before.
