Lost my mother to suicide when I was 17 and my father found out he had terminal liver cancer 8 months later. They passed 11 months apart. I didn't think I'd be crying at 8am, but here we are. This song is lovely and you're amazing for this❤ Wow I didn't expect all of this, but I very much appreciate it. Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm almost 21 now and I'm graduating college a year early. I'm then gonna take a gap year before starting grad school and I'm doing well. I miss them and I'd give anything for them to be here, but even without that I know they would be proud of me. They never hesitated to make sure I knew when they were alive so there's no doubt in my mind. I thank everyone for the kind words and I hope y'all are doing well❤

I'm very sorry for ur loss! I will always remember every detail of the day they took my brother off life support I hope that u know that grief can feel like ur losing ur mind. Allow yourself to grieve. U might need help...counseling, grief group, books, KZbin videos. Do whatever u can to grieve in a way that's healthy. The worst thing u can do is go down a bad road. Ur brother wouldn't want that and I promise u it wont stop the pain...it just delays they pain and u can end up making a lot of bad decisions on top of a broken heart 🙏🙏🙏

As a therapist, grieving is one of the things that sticks with you forever. It's knowing how you cope with the pain and this song gets me. Amazing job!

@THE GIRL Hi there, We are told (from a society standpoint) that crying and "staying strong" is the best thing to do so we don't have to cry. Crying is all apart of the grieving process and releasing those endorphins ("feel good chemicals") can help ease both physical and emotional pain. Being able to talk about your grandmother is also the best thing to do as well and remembering the good memories and what she brought into your life. Hope this helps :)

Hard to focus when everything reminded me of her. I failed 2 classes and was depressed for a while. Tennis season was coming up and they wouldn’t let me play even explaining my situation. It was hard. I wasn’t going to join despite being depressed but I did it for her. Life is full of ups and down. Hurts when someone can be stripped away from you like nothing. Sometimes I just wanna scream my guts out at whoever decided this was her time to go. I needed her still.

I just found out about this song 1 month after it’s been realised. It literally made me cry. I lost my mom at 12 and she was only 36. This song is so beautiful but what’s more amazing is your gesture to your best friend - understanding her pain, caring about her and never leaving her alone. I wish I had a friend like you. My best friends and friends at all were never really beside me after losing my mom. I always felt alone. It’s been more than 3 years since my mom passed away and it’s like everyone forgot and thinks I’m over it. I’ll never be over it. It hurts so much because in the moments when everyone abandons me I feel the pain even worse and miss my mom even more. Because I know she would never abandon me. I know God called her and I’m trying to cop with it everyday. Please, never do that to your friend. It seems like you have a pure soul and I hope you and her are both doing okay now. Sending love 💕

@Robloxian Soph! she died in a car crash on December 8th 2018. She was travelling with my dad with his car. Something happened and he lost control over the car. It crashed. He got out the car and tried to get my mom out there too but she was already dead. I wasn’t there but he later told us everything. Me and my brother were at home this day, sleeping, and my aunt and grandma woke us up. (we don’t live with them and it was strange) I had that feeling that something bad happened but I didn’t know it’d be that.. My grandma told us about it. I still remember how the whole world stopped for a moment. And it was the worst feeling ever. I’ve never got to say goodbye not even see her again. My dad said it would be better for us if we don’t see her that way in the coffin and just remember her as she always was - beautiful and smiling. 💓

I'm 16 and lost my mom just over a month ago, and it's been hard. The reason behind the song combined with the lyrics makes it feel like the song was written for me, because my mom wasn't much older than 48 (she had just turned 52) when she passed and my birthday is in just a couple of months, and she always made my brothers' and my birthday cakes. There's just so many connections I can make through this song that it has me laying in bed crying my eyes out, yet at the same time it feels like one big comfort hug. Thank you.Not only did you find a way to help your friend while grieving, I think many people who lost their loved ones find comfort or a "good cry" in this song. They open up.I also relate to this song, I lost my Mum a few years ago, it took us totally by surprise. She died in the night in a Hospital for mental health here in Germany. She had a lung disease and needed to get oxygen regularly. No one there seemed to notice something was wrong, they found her dead the other morning. So from one day to the other the world was shattered. Your song reminds me that it is ok to be sad but also to be happy. You have not only the gift that you are talented in singing. You also have empathy.

My best friend sent this song to me yesterday and I am so glad she did! I lost my Momma very suddenly on March 7, 2020. She was only 56. I've had the hardest time. We were best friends. This song helps me to remember that she would want me to live life to the fullest!

Just came across this song and it hit home. I lost my big sister 3 years ago. She was like a second mom to me. Never known life without her. After she passed my birthdays just make me sad because she’s not there to wish me a happy birthday, give me a hug, and watch me blow out the candles. I miss her so much 💔 I’m 24 so even though I’m not a kid anymore I feel like I will always need her help/advice. Love and miss you so much my sister ❤️

I have expected the same thing except IM the older sister and I lost my LITTLE sister. She was so beautiful. And I miss her everyday, the most unfortunate thing is that we lost her on Christmas morning…

So sorry for your loss, just know you big sisters are like our second moms and you’re the first person we look up to growing up. There’s no love like the one between sisters ❤️

This hits me hard because it's so relatable, I also lost my mom when I was 12, she was 47 almost 48 and it broke me so much. Im 20 years old now and I have a 1 2/2 year old son, it hurts knowing I can never introduce my son to his grandma but he reminds me of her everyday. At the time I conceived him, I was in a really hard place mentally missing her and all i wanted was to be with her gain. when I found out I was pregnant I knew it was my mom giving me a reason to live and she looked out for me my whole pregnancy and gave me a healthy little baby boy ❤ I miss her and love her everyday and looking at my son reminds me that she came through for me at a very hard time in my life and gave me the best miracle in the world ❤ I love you mom forever and always 💛12.25.66-9.23.2014 💛

My Dad died when I was 14 years old I’m 27 now. He died suddenly from a bacterial infection in his throat that in this day and age would and should of been treated with antibiotics. He saw a doctor the day he died and complained of a sore throat but the doctor couldn’t see anything wrong and sent him for swaps he was going to get the next day but he didn’t make it. The day before he came downstairs and told me he didn’t feel well I told him to go to the hospital and he said “pfft, it’s not like I’m going to die.” Those words still haunt me. He made it past 48 he was 49 and always said he would die before 50 and he did, strange how they just know sometimes. This song brings up a lot of feelings for me.
