Recently you told me you don't really do junk journals, but you're a natural at it. You recycled that tea envelope! I like mixing junk and artsy stuff, plus making ephemera for tuck spots, bellybands, just mixing it all up. When I began my journey in art a few years back, I binged watched LorriMarie Jenkins here on KZbin. Her style ivery gungy and quirky, not my style. But her techiques for building or altering a book taught me bunches. Lessons on making pullout drawers, flip-tops and flip-ups/downs, hidden pockets, a stage with puppets, doors and windows..........sooooooo fun!

lol Thank you. I just think of people with the journals with different kinds and sizes of paper. That I don't really do. I've made them but don't play in them. I do like doing all those things you mentioned though, flips, windows, etc.

Dyan answered a ? abt the paints being in jars, drying out faster and what to do abt it. She advised to mist water into the paint at the end of every use thereby replacing the moisture content.

I went whole hog and got all of Dyan's new stuff:paints, stamps, stencils, collage sheets (2 of each set), stickers, sprays.....have been cutting out the collage sheets in my 'spare' time.... Love this layout, can't hardly wait for more!

Hi, I’m a new subscriber and I love your process! I’m new to Dylusions and wasn’t quite sure how to start. I just purchased all the paints, sprays, lots of stencils, and a few stamps...no kidding! I love to doodle, but I haven’t made a collage since I was a freshman in college. Btw, It’s funny you mentioned cutting out the collage elements. I purchased both sets and have only twelve sheets left to cut. Lots of great stuff, but no motivation to create at the moment. I’m sure something will pop up as soon as I start my work rotation again. Thanks for the inspiration!

I’ll admit that I have been binge watching your videos! I found it helpful to watch the Gel printing album series from the beginning. I began prepping the large dylusions book with spray ink last night. Tonight I’m going to fill in a few blank pages with paint. The last time I tried this, I wasn’t patient and tried to do too many pages at one time and had bleed through and very wet pages that tore away from the stitching. I’m stenciling these pages and will probably use them as grunge paper.

Thanks Deena. I was the same way when I saw others doing it as well. Just try it. Nobody has to know. Nobody ever has to see it if you don't want them to. Just try it. You don't even have to invest anything. Just get some flyers and magazines and cut out some images!

Denise I thought I would play with Mischief Circus as I don’t get magazines lol. I thought about printing free images but these are made for it so I figured storing them on the computer or a box etc after printing would be better and cheaper than buying others 😊 do you print them on plan computer paper?

@@deenaotway7717 I don't buy magazines either. But sometimes you can find good images from ones that come in the mail. Or little clothing store ones. But Mischief Circus isn't expensive. And you can print as many as you want. Yes, I just use printer paper. Nothing special. Have fun!!!

If you seal the jars with some plastic wrap or press n seal before screwing on the lid , that will solve the problem of the paint drying out.

What fun! Thanks but the ones that turned solid, I have thrown out. By the time the tubes are empty, the rest may be solid as well. Actually I don't have any tubes of the jars I already own. Waiting for them to be used before replacing with a tube.

I know this is slightly older video, but could you add water to the jars of paint before they dry out? It's acrylic paint, right? Seems the new jars are half the size. I'm tempted to get some of her stuff.

Yes she says to spritz them with water when you're finished. But I hadn't touched them in quite some time. I'm over it. lol I won't be buying any more jars. She has them in tubes now!

@@DeniseLush My issue with tubes in general, or tiny bottles with small openings, is you can never use all of it. Toothpaste, face creams and expensive potions. With a jar you can get your finger in there, or a Q-tip and get it all out.
