Im so confused. Why is the Metatarsale always cut during bunion correction? Can it not be pushed or pulled back into the correct position?

@@springin2tri That's what im wondering. I've had a terrible case of metatarsalgia for 7 years and I have a mild bunion on my big toe and a mild tailor's bunion on the little toe. Have you found out anything helpful since your last comment here?

Losing the arch is the cause due to miscarriage of weight on that foot. Why can't posture to feet be addressed to correct muscle strength.

Having gone through a similar procedure without such accurate tooling, I understand why they are necessary. It's just very difficult for the surgeon to achieve the correction of the IMA, DMAA, etc without tooling which lock all the angles. Since every angle affects others nearby - without the clamp and the hardware which locks the joints into place, things are almost bound to go sideways

In my opinion, Lapidus procedure is better than this Osteotomy - too many guide wires - risky that wires can go through sole of foot.
