Great video. And great flying place you have there. Oh yeah... Thanks for posting and greetings from Slovenia, Pilot Robert

Dynam retracts are famous for having problems in cold weather. Look at blogs and discussions about them you will see many people swap them out with different brands.

That is a fact, I heard that later on as well. Turns out to be quite true.

Yes, and parts are rare these days.

Try easing off on up elevator at the beginning of takeoff. Mashing the elevator to soon is a recipe for a stall, which you almost did several times. The tail should lift itself off the runway as you begin your takeoff approach. At that time, ease into up elevator and she'll float into the air like a breeze. Also, the BF109 is notorious for its horrible ground handling due to the narrow landing gear.

Awesome advice, I found the take-off to be very tricky for sure. I will focus on doing that on my next flight. I appreciate you watching the video and helping me out.

Skyview Productions is correct, ease into the throttle on takeoff, let the tail lift up, keep a little right rudder to stop the left hook that all warbirds like to do, practice that every time and your takeoffs will look scale every time, takes practice, on your landing approaches always keep enough speed and energy so if you don't like it you can always abort and retry, if you come in to slow it's almost impossible to abort safely.

Was your rudder a separate piece when you had to assemble it? I’m having trouble putting mine on

Alec Marcel I believe it was attached initially.

Fun flying but what made this video is your great sense of humor! Really enjoyed it.

Well, thank you, I have to have a good sense of humor due to my poor flying skills...

Enjoyed every minute of the video brother. Advice and getting her tuned in. I painted one of my 109 with a desert camouflage and squared off wing tip to make it a “E” model.👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻

That's rad, how does your 109 fly with the squared off wing tips?
@eqrc75872 жыл бұрын
@@ridingdeep8530 brother it fly’s better, and don’t float coming is for landing. She just rolls right in. Don’t forget to give right rudder on takeoff for nice scale takeoff. Used a 3000 4s if I can remember on madden.

If you're using the factory Y harness switch it out for a spektrum Y harness or one with a little bigger wire gauge diameter and see if that resolves the intermittent behavior on the landing gear, on mine I used nitro fuel tubing as spacers, used longer screws and raked it forward, no nose over landings, this plane likes 2500 and 3000 batts, 2200 it flys tail heavy, run the bigger packs all the way forward and she'll become a pussy cat.
@DeucesWildRC7 жыл бұрын
The bigger packs weigh 3oz more and this plane balances at the CG perfectly, then you can return the elevator back to neutral and not worry.
@ridingdeep85307 жыл бұрын
Awesome advice, I'll order up a few larger batteries, as well as a spectrum Y harness and rake my landing gear forward a bit. Good stuff, any other words of wisdom for this plane? I great appreciate you watching my video and I'm especially thankful for the help.

My pleasure sir! The other 2 things I did was balance the prop and spinner ( separately) using a dubros prop balancer and I coated her with a few coats of minwax water based polyacryl clear satin to protect the paint and minor hanger rash from transporting
@ridingdeep85307 жыл бұрын
Is the clear satin a form of paint?

You can buy it at Home Depot, comes in different size cans, I use foam brushes to apply it, first coat should be light covering, after that you can go on a little heavier, as many coats as you want to achieve the desired finish, just avoid bubbles and heavy drips and stay clear of clevises and push rods and avoid getting it down between hinges because it dries hard and can impede movement, I also use beacon foam tac to reinforce control surface hinges, the key is to use very thin coat because it dries to a flexible rubbery finish, protects against foam cracking that weakens control hinges.
