I am trying to learn FEA through your content, Great explanation as usual! That example with the mass pushed and pulled gradually should be quasi-static, right? Also, the time-dependent force plot where force is progressively applied from 0 to 1 sec should be technically quasi-static and as per my understanding we call a system static when the force is either constant or 0. If I am wrong, can you explain where quasi-static fits into FEA?

Dear Sir, I want to simulate an experimental cyclic loading, can I use general static? 2nd question: Infact I am not able to get post peak degradation in load displacement curve for monotonic load itself. I am using CDP model for concrete.
@arsitech-ltd Жыл бұрын
Dear, 1. Yes you can use general static step. 2. Peak degradation mainly depends on material model..and its parameters. Please check your parameters are correct.
@SunnyMishraced Жыл бұрын
@@arsitech-ltd Sir, I provided CDP for concrete plasticity and the default damage parameter for concrete., but post-peak displacement is not going down.

Hello Sir, If I have laods of 80KN, and total time is 10 sec. I want to make a hystersis curve, how i can make my amplitude data?
@arsitech-ltd Жыл бұрын
Dear, Apply a cyclic load and use respective hardning rule. Here you want to apply 80KN load for 10 sec but you not told the cycle of load. You can follow this video to define amplitude load in Abaqus - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJqkfWaLfsR3hs0

@@arsitech-ltd sir, I watched your video, My cycle is 3 load cycles per sec. if load is 80, and time is 6 sec, how i can calulate?
@arsitech-ltd Жыл бұрын
Dear, You need to define amplitude with circular frequency of 6*pi to complete 3 cycle in one sec. In step time define 6 sec. In load define 80N, make sure you select above created amplitude in load.

Thank you for your video, it was the best explained so far 👍. I have a question concerning concrete, if I want to perform a compression test on a concrete cylinder, could it be a static general study? because the majority of the tutorials tend to use dynamic explicit analysis and that would take plenty of time, especially when I try to simulate reinforced concrete with composite material. Thank you.
@arsitech-ltd2 жыл бұрын
Dear, Compression test will be consider as quasi static untill high strain rate involved in it. Someone may use dynamic step if 1. High strain rate involved (load rate is very High) 2. large deformation, so the general static step not able to handle convergence. 3. JC material model not available with static step and implicit step...and someone want to use JC material model. 4. Complex contact condition...so static step not able to handle convergence. Etc.

@@arsitech-ltd Thank you I appreciate your timely reply. Thus, in my case, I could do a frequency analysis to compare the natural frequency of the system with the frequency of the loading and then decide whether to perform a quasi-static analysis or a dynamic one?
@arsitech-ltd2 жыл бұрын
Dear, In general the procedure you talking about is correct, we can go with it. However, a in a compression test increase load rate technique can be directly impliment up to strain rate of 100/sec or may be Little more. If you can share visuals of your problem on my mail/whatsapp it will be better. Details Available in video discription.

Hi, thanks for the video! I have a question? How can I define the application of the dead load if an explicit dynamic step is present in the analysis? Because in this case I can't introduce a previous static general step in wich I can define it.
@arsitech-ltd2 жыл бұрын
Dear, You need to simply apply gravity. Dead load will automatically considered. Create two explicit step. One for dead load another is for working load. Also you can create dead load in general static step and call model+results in explicit step by initial stress parameters. I uploaded video - two stages forming analysis in Abaqus.
