Demonstration to show dynamic laser balancing of guidance gyroscope rotor.
Unbalance is calculated then material automatically removed whilst rotor is still spinning at full speed. In this particular application, process cycle time was reduced from ~1 hour to just over 3 minutes.
With this system, balancing is now a de-skilled process.
Balanced parts are repeatable, potentially to a higher tolerance, with less windage and also look much better aesthetically.
Many other types of rotors can be balanced using this method.
We have experience up to 300,000 rpm and also with non-rigid (supercritical) rotors (3 plane+ balancing (orbit correction)).
Please contact sales@dynamiclasersolutions.com to discuss your requirements.

That is one of the cleverest things I've seen, hats off for a perfect solution to a difficult problem.

We have been asked many times what is happening when the vectors seem to jump to a higher value. It's actually the polar plot changing scale to a lower unit per div as the residual out of balance decreases. We have since added a tell tale to the software to take out any confusion.

Dynamic Laser Solutions do you have a solution for dynamic balancing for car drive axles without removing them ?
@dynamiclasersolutions6208
@dynamiclasersolutions6208 6 жыл бұрын
We could probably design something but the balancing would most likely need to be done with the addition of weights rather than laser. You would also need to do a calibration drive for each model of car that you wanted to balance. Drop us an email if you would like to discuss further contact@dynamiclasersolutions.com

where can i go if i want to learn more about what these axis are? where it says plane 1 and plane 2. what actually is that?

@@dynamiclasersolutions6208 If axles have sacrificial metal mass on them, I think it's possible? If not, adding some hot spray metal seems to be trivial.

I didn't think this was possible to do at speed. They must be using a seriously fast DSP to control the process.

We have worked with rotors up to 300,000 RPM and in to the super critical region where a 3rd orbit correction axis is required!

Damn. That is precise. There is a bit of luck involved even when using automated solution.

Is anyone else impressed the laser can impart enough energy to ablate a significant amount of material to balance something spinning past the point of incidence at 48,000RPM?!?! Granted this is a demo system, but my only critique would be to add an extractor hose to cart off the ablated metal dust so it stays away from the hearings and the rest of the instruments. Of course thats just picking nits. Freaking awesome application of technology! Though....I am going to have to 'DEH TUK ERH JERBZ!!!!' in memory of the technicians who get replaced with this laser rig.....Society better hurry up with that utopia if we're going to keep displacing people with machines. Also, I for one welcome our new robot overlords.

Hi Mike, this laser application is for very fine, high rpm components. However I happen to work at a firm that does produce balancing machines for large pump impellers including those industries. Please message me and we can discuss what you need.

Hi, yes, any metal or ceramic rotor can be balanced using this method. Plastics are more difficult as very specialist lasers are required. Please feel free to drop me an email to contact@dynamiclasersolutions.com if you would like further information.

I'll pay $10,000 for a large electric powered gyro on gimbals that flips over every 24 hours as the Earth spins as a scientific display and as a clock (and to shut down the stupid flat Earthers...lol). I think it would be worth every penny to show the angle change as a 24 hour clock. Small gyros don't seem to be strong enough to change angle as the Earth rotates.

I suspect the principle of a gyroscope might be wasted on "Flat Earther's"

I would probably also pay (2500$ maybe) for largish stationary gimbaled electric gyro, with optical encoder readout, just for fun, display and as education tool, and investigation into IMUs.

nope you will not shut down any of the flat earthers no matter how much evidence you show them esp then 80% of flat earthers who dont even really believe in flat earth in any way shape or from and are just really trolling people and get a kick out of getting even bigger morons to get so triggered any time a flat earther tells them they are full of crap that the earth is flat or that space really exists. They know dam well that its all just a big joke that spun out of control. Tho there are a small % of them that are just that freaking stupid to belive in flat earth while refuting all proof and evidace that its not flat. but even them ones would never be able to let go of there belief system just like how dumb science-denying liberals still cling on to their beliefs that the earth is somehow experiencing global warming despite most mainstream science totally debunking that horse shit, baseless theory years ago. yet some clueless morons and science deniers still cling to their religion or cults beliefs that they made part of their identity.
