You can apply the scaling on your object

Yes, it is a noise plugged into the volume of the world, then animated in your preferred direction.

Made it on blender 2.93 and just installed Blender 2.90 to try, but in 2.90 i don't see displace modifier

If you apply the scale you might have to tweak your settings again to look good at your new scale

You can go file>append, and browse to the blend file and append the object you want

To edit individual branches, you can do it in edit mode, selecting your preferred branch and transforming it, or selecting a vertex on the branch and use proportional editing.
