I think the classic analogy of sinking/rooting like a tree can still apply, if you also keep in mind that the branches of the tree are simultaneously "pulled" upward toward the sun. This keeps the joints open, alleviating the unwanted compression and allowing the opponent's force to pass through your structure.
@InternalTaiChiАй бұрын
I must admit I agree with you. It is all about that balance isn't it? If there is a downward sensation of growing roots then there must also be an equal quality of upwardness, much like the tree. I guess my point in this video was that if we emphasize the deep roots too much, then we become rooted and cannot move. Instead we do have the potential to be rooted and move like a cat. That is what I'm demonstrating in this video.

I like it that you practice with a much bigger and stronger opponent than yourself, shows that the weaker person can overcome the stronger.

Thank you. That is one of the reasons why I choose people larger than myself. I want to demonstrate the Tai Chi principles is an equalizer.

Yes, absolutely! My book is nearing completion and will have a set of companion videos to go with the learning process. I plan on having a small group of "beta" live stream students to go through the modules with. If you go to my "about" page on my KZbin home page, you can find my email there. Or just go to my website and scroll to the bottom of the first page for "contact me." If I type my email here it can get hacked. My KZbin home page is: www.youtube.com/@internaltaichi I hope to hear from you in email. Thank you for being a loyal and engaged follower!

So don't max out on the rooting? Just stretch enough so everything on my own body connects from arms to feet? Then touch the opponent?
@InternalTaiChi28 күн бұрын
Correct about not maxing out on rooting. However, we do not stretch. Just as important as connecting your own body, you need to connect to THEIR body. I will try to make a follow up video and post it this weekend. Thanks for your great question.

hmm when you said like pouring water and then something rises up, maybe it's like pouring soda drink? because the soda releases gas up and that gas can really put pressure on the bottle or other vessel...

I do understand your frustration. I was in that place once too. I'm doing my best to communicate the quality and teach it however it is not a simple thing to teach. Ironically once you feel it it is really a simple thing to do. Keep watching videos, thinking about it, and approaching it with an open mind and one day it will make sense to you and you will get it.

Maybe try bones up everything else down, blood, muscles, soft tissue, everything that is not bone. It might start to give you the right feeling that you can build on. There is a lot going on at once and one day it will just click and you’ll get it. Keep practicing 🙂🙏🏼☯️

Not fake. I honestly don't know how to get people to believe what I am doing is true. I have tried to demonstrate with random people with no Tai Chi experience, people that are much larger than me, as well as people that are my size. It would seem that after watching my videos you would see the natural sincerity of those individuals trying to push on me. Not all of them could be that good of actors! Anyway you have the prerogative to not believe me. And I was one of those doubters at one time too. Then one day someone did it to me and instantly I knew all that I had been seeing previously and not believing was actually real. This was a game changer for me. I wish you well on your journey and hopefully one day you will know that what you see in this video is real.

@@InternalTaiChi for this type of "customers", it may be that they want to see demonstration with athletes, can be strength sports, combat sports, or just bodybuilders. because i watched "debunking" videos from combat sports coaches. if you're interested, one example is "It only takes 1 minute to become a fake Taichi master". i think these customers want to see you talk with them and do some demo :/
@InternalTaiChiАй бұрын
@@outerlast Have you seen my Strong Man vs Tai Chi video? That guy is a huge, muscular athlete. It currently has over 250K views. To be honest I have several stopping points to your suggestion (although I appreciate the suggestion and your support). One is I am tiny and I can't risk getting hurt. I teach Tai Chi full time. My #1 dedication is to my students (who pay me) and keeping myself in top Tai Chi condition for them. If I engage with uber athletes there is a higher chance of my getting hurt because when egos get involved, sometimes the tendency is to try to prove oneself to the point of forgetting the wellbeing of the other person. Secondly most of those folks who want to debunk or not believe are not going to change their minds no matter what video I put out there. That is where they choose to be and that is where they will remain (most of them). I have seen that video to which you reference and it actually makes me sick to my stomach. It does Tai Chi such an injustice. My main goal is to elevate Tai Chi practice so that those who want to, can learn the marvels of Tai Chi. I keep learning and developing so I can share with others. The "others" I want to share with are viewers like yourself and the many others I currently have who are seeking good, solid, learnable information. If I waste my energy trying to prove myself or the skill, I will only become distracted away from my goal.

@InternalTaiChi Hi sir, first of all, thank you your explanation of the result you got, lm a kung Fu follower, l learned kung Fu since I m fourteen year old 😁 now lm in seventy years old, l study taichi more than five famous styles, besides that also learned Karate Shitor-ryu holding 3rd Dan. Before l spend lot of time to study taichi, lm only like the Wu style 108 styles, l didn't get any feelings of the power which you said, the points is just for a kinds of exercise, suitable for seniors, but for self defense l recommend the boxing 🥊 this is only my opinion, sorry 😔😐 good luck 🤞
@outerlastАй бұрын
@@InternalTaiChi oh yes, i understand all those points. the video i gave you is one of the worse examples, it's so that you can see what kind of "customers" you're dealing with when they say fake, fraud, or other terms. but when i said to talk and do demo with them, i was thinking of the following: for some years i have been receiving recommended youtube videos of japanese martial artists meeting and exhanging knowledge and skills. some did include a form of light sparring, but a lot only did demonstration. what's more is, not only martial artists. i remember videos including pole dancers, ballerina, badminton players, and so on. maybe it's part commercial ads, but nevertheless it's interesting :) although the translated subtitles are difficult to understand, one example that what i wanted to recommend you very much, titled: "【イス軸法®︎】わずか5秒のクイック整体で驚愕の変化が!【体軸の神秘】" and its sequel: "【だって怪しいんだもん】凄すぎて信じ難いのでイス軸法®︎を緊急検証!【忖度ヤラセ一切ナシ】" about a teacher of maybe tai chi or i chuan, meeting pro mma athlete and introduced his method called isujikuho (chair axis method) to improve the athlete's core strength. if you watch them, you can see there's no competition, ego, or anything like that. they even asked if there's some professor who would like to research how this method works :p of course the problem is whether you can find athletes or other professionals around you, who are open minded like japanese people in those videos.
