Magical. Well done. Soler (forgotten today) in 1786, 1978,..., was JUSTIFIED more popular than A. Mozart and Salieri (together). "Una cosa rara 1786." Solera within five years. , the opera was performed 55 times in Vienna in Italian and 87 times in German. By 1810, there were productions in 19 present-day countries - only in 29 cities in Italy - and translations into 9 languages. Mozart, whose Nozze di Figaro - Soler's opera was dropped from the Burgtheater repertoire - quotes the sextet "O quanto un si bel giubilo" in the finale of his Don Giovanni (1787). Da Ponte asked Joseph II to do another opera for "that good Spaniard". So he wrote - at the same time as Don Giovanni for Mozart and Axur for Salieri - L'arbore di Diana (Diana's Tree). In terms of inventiveness and poetry, Da Ponte considered the "drama Diana" his best: "Sweet without being lascivious, it interests the audience (...) from beginning to end." With 65 performances in five years, L' arbore di Diana was Soller's greatest success at the Burgtheater. This was followed by more than 40 productions from Madrid to Moscow, from Milan to London and translations into German, French, Polish and Russian. L'arbore di Diana was described by Da Ponte and Mozart as a model for Cosi fan tutte. In The Magic Flute of Schikaneder and Mozart, the Queen of the Night with her ladies reminds us of Diana and her nymphs, the natural man Papageno of the shepherd Doristus, his punishment by the mute unchaste nymph Britomarta and the attack of the Dark Ones on the temple of wisdom of those Amores in Diana's realm

Nice vocal performance, except for Amore: the role is written for a female soprano, not for a controtenore. I don't understand why nowadays those kind of characters, written for women, are played by men: so you lose the beauty and the sexual ambiguity of that character, just because in this way is "more funny"... Waiting for another performance.
