I notice an issue brought up a lot with dynamis is that it’s now being implemented in places where it really isn’t or that there isn’t enough proof to make the statement. Jobs involving emotion would still require aether as it ever has. I like you talking about the dynamis as we know of the facts and the speculation of how it can be used.

I agree, I've seen a lot of speculation like "Maybe X job uses dynamis because it's powered by feelings", and while it's possible that dynamis has something to do with it, the primary source is still going to be aether, and so far the only confirmed use of dynamis by the WoL is Limit Break.

@@SaltExarch I’m of the opinion that a limit break is enhanced by dynamis since it does require aether to use.
@SaltExarch2 жыл бұрын
@@acgearsandarms1343 of course, I didn't mean it's dynamis exclusively, but it's very clear when Endsinger reacts to the technique that the Limit Breaks are at least powered enough by dynamis that she's surprised by it.

hey Salt!!! have always lov ur vid, and im glad ur doing more. Great source for that juice JUICE lore. Ever thought of doing a vid on the economy of Eorzea? would love to know the house market/glams are affected by the players :)

That seems like a really good idea for a discussion topic. The economy of MMOs in general always have to deal with various issues like the constant influx of money, so it'd be interesting to talk about how FFXIV handles it and how the player's own activities affect it as well!

@@SaltExarch got the idea by the fact that houses seem to b a limited resource, which, in a digital medium, sounds VEEEEEEEEERY sus

Dynamics originated in FFXI, and was a nightmare of BS to deal with. Ah the teenage memories
@arcaydeaxiii56112 жыл бұрын
In FFXI is was actually a endgame location that was like a negative mirror of the world with absurdly hard mobs and even scarier bosses... Like the terror that was Absolute Virtue

@@arcaydeaxiii5611 I never played FFXI, but that does sound like a nightmare to deal with. The concept is pretty cool, though!

@@SaltExarch it was cool except how u got into dynamis. You had to spend millions of gil to reserve a Real Life timeslots of like 4 hours on a real calender map that every group was vying for time inside on. So some weeks you wouldn't be able to enter at all cuz you couldn't buy time, and if you did buy it and the one who had the key missed the time slot then it was forfeit. Nvm that this required coordination with 20+ ppl to be ingame at the same time and for 4 hours straight cuz that's all you got to be able to run the dungeon total. The reality was that you had an hour and had to smartly kill enemies to increase the time to the maximum. And if you didn't extend your time, didn't finish the dungeon, or everyone died? Booted out and now you're locked out for the week. And the big huge draw was that enemies had a like .1% chance to drop the base item to start a huge months long grindy quest for FFXI's version of the Ultima weapons. And u better hope you roll high cuz 8 ppl want it

Dynamis is a fascinating concept but in my view depending the beasts of the Endtime it is a concept together that means that soul and body have to be in Balance to work normally and an Terror in this Balance causes heavy Problems.

I'd argue that the jobs Dark Knight, Dancer and Bard all utilize dynamis. Not solely, but in part. I mean we're literally doing damage or healing with emotions, if that's not at least partially dynamis based, I'd be shocked. Also, we are entelechies. That's why the world was sundered to force us to learn how to wield dynamis. It's also why we could hear Meteion when the Ancients couldn't.
@jegudielyusha28662 жыл бұрын
What would be amusing is if garleans can control dynamis better than most because they can't control aether.

That would explain how Zenos beat us given the WoL has defeated gods and he's just a guy. Sure a guy trained from birth to fight, but still. It also explains why he believed increasing our hatred of him would give us a power up. Plus a comment made by Urianger suggests Zenos is the one who summoned the teleporter that sent us back to the ship, if that's true then with his dying breath he was able to wield dynamis to save us.
