I saw her disassembled when I went to Strasburg a few months ago. They couldn’t verify the engine due to confidentiality agreements, but given that there’s only a few active 4-4-0’s, the list of possibilities were small lol Thanks for the confirmation!

That loco is beautiful,you can see the passion of the Victorians where everything had to work and work well but also look beautiful. The world is a troubled place and you can see all the trouble on youtube if you want, but how absolutely peaceful to watch this loco rumble by. Almost a fantasy world for a short period of time. I feel better already.

This is actually a modern replica loco! Still beautiful by all means though!

Nice video, as always. They're soliciting donations for it's inspection and rebuild, which I contributed to. They repainted the driving and pilot wheels a darker red, and I'd love to see them repaint the cab that colour while they have her apart.

For being a "brand new" modern day built 4-4-0 like pretty much all ours are, the way it maintains the feel of a real 1860s Rogers is amazing. I see in the description York was built to the other replicas at Promontory Point.

The William Mason over in Baltimore where I live is an original from 1856 and was only retired in like 2014. I think it was one of if not the oldest functional steam loco in the US

When did they ship it to the Strasburg? It was going to be a long process in house with a risky future but now at Strasburg they just need to pay the extra cost and it'll be back in no time.
@DynamoProductions-trainsАй бұрын
It was trucked earlier this year

@@DynamoProductions-trains Thank you, I might have even saw it at Strasburg, but just didn't realize it, they do a lot of work for different Steam groups 611 comes to mind another is 85.
@Hendo56Ай бұрын
@@RyanHatterer-Ryanns999 It may take awhile. It's a very extensive and intensive process, and from what I heard, they have another loco before it to work on.

@Hendo56 I've been apart of one teardown yes it is a long process but the Strasburg RR is by far the best in this area for this stuff like I said as long as the NCR along with donations can foot the bill 17 should be almost new when it returns. 90 is in front and is finishing up its rebuild after passing its steam up just this month.
