I just bought a set in 37 12.5x17 . Replaced my toyo rt's. RT's were better in rough off-road. But these XT's are way better on road. They are a quarter inch narrower. On my ram 2500 diesel, they end up at 35.25 inches tall mounted on the front. They are very quiet. My exhaust is louder at 60mph than these tires. I drove at 3 am in light snow on pavement. These worked great! I didn't need to use 4x4 even on a slow steep hill. They stop and turn great in snow. I drive cautiously in icy conditions. The RT's were dangerous in snow. Lots of slippage. In the rain, they would shudder. The XT's are also better on graded washboard dirt roads. Better grip and smoother ride. I think they will be less effective once they wear more than halfway though. The RT's were still good near the wear bars. But they got very noisy and on road they lost grip. Off-road they were still usable. But they never handled as good as these XT's.

“ I think these will fall in with the category of the ridge grapplers” that’s saying a lot for me! I’m gonna give them a try! I’ll save more money for other tires in the future! But you’ve got me pretty convinced that these will be worth my dollars! Thanks bud!

Haven’t had a chance to run my Hankook MT2 in the snow but off road they have been good and the wet traction has been awesome for an MT tire they squirmed a little more than I liked when new so I like they have addressed this with the new XT which if what they did works will make this a better tire if you are going to be on the highway more than off-road if there compound in the tread is better than the MT then this tire may very well be the best of both worlds hope to here some good reviews on this tire before I purchase my next set of tires Thanks for the video Matt

Thanks for the review! Small suggestion, you should also include tire reviews from your customers. “End of Life” series for example where we can see what tires look like when they need to be replaced. Thanks again!

Thanks for the info, I love my KO2s but they perform poorly in the rain. Decided to go with these instead. The tire is fairly new so I couldn’t find any reviews prior to purchasing them but I’ll take a chance. Plus they are priced cheaper than their competitors. I got 4 brand new 37x12.50r17s for about 1300 bucks.

I’ve read that from a few people, but haven’t experienced it myself. The KO2’s on my 2500HD diesel have been very impressive in some pretty nasty downpours.

I’ve seen where other manufacturers have touted their beveled edge tread blocks, but have always wondered how that would play out as the beveled edges wear off.

In their biggest sizes 37's on 20" or 35's on 18" being 12 Ply (High Load Rating) and R speed rating is Serious build quality for large tires and great for HD trucks. Keep lifted truck from sidewall spongy on turns and wearing the outer edge of tread to look rounded and tacky, then the Load Index for hauling loads or heavy trailer hitch weight. Then they're also on the lighter weight side for lower rotating mass for lower fuel consumption just to turn them and keeping them rolling.

I have a RAM 3500 4x4 SRW cummins and tow a 14k lb 5th wheel camper just about every weekend in the spring and summer. I do get in the mud during duck season. Looking at the Hankook Dynapro XT and Yokohama Geolander X-AT. The Geolander X-AT has 3 ply sidewall. My short list: Dynapro XT, Ridge Grappler, Toyo Open Country AT3, and Yokohama Geolander X-AT. I had a set of the Dynapro ATM on a Ford 4WD Pickup. 32k miles and worn out. Rotated every 4-5 k miles. Be curious to see what the long term review will be for a set of these. Even though a nice looking tire, I will stay with other brands.

Those don't have a treadwear warranty, unfortunately. They do have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee though, which I wish more tire manufacturers did. The Cooper XLT's should serve you well for many miles! One of my favorite tires!

I bought a set of thr XLT October 2020. Have 27k miles on them. During thr snow-mageddon this past December we got about a foot of snow. I backed out of my garage and crunched down thr street in 4x4 without any problems. Quiet. No hum or rumble. As nice as the factory Michelin AT2. Did take 1,000 miles to settle down. I'm down to 12-13/32 after 27,000 miles so those are great wear rate.

How is the rubber in -20 to -25 weather?
@Icutmetal8 ай бұрын
To me, that sidewall looks an awful lot like the one on the ST Max- not sure how much traction it adds, but I’m sure the extra rubber helps with durability a bit.

I've had 2 different models of Hankooks and had the same issue with both. Once you approach the halfway point of their life, the wet and winter traction drops dramatically. So much so that I replaced both sets well before they should have been replaced. Think I'll pass on Hankooks.
