I know this is anime only, but his deck wasn't that bad. The main reason, the Seal of Orichalcos. It allowed a second row of monsters. This meant cards like burning knuckle could cap at 2.5k (200x10 + 500 from the field). Sure it still kind of sucked, but not as bad as it would in the real world.

@@TheMightyBattleSquid Yes each monster gets 500 bonus attack points, but none of the armors take the attack points of the others (I think). Also this actually hurts the deck as big bang blow will deal you more damage, possibly forcing a draw.

Technically you could treat Accesscode as power armor, Raye already wears it in most games. The issue I have with subtypes is that Konami has been treating all of them like Archetypes instead of mechanics. Toons are excusable since they were an archetype when Konami had no clue how they'd mechanically make an archetype function but Union, Spirit and Gemini have no excuses why they couldn't get archetypes focused around the mechanic. Tribute Summoning gets to have stuff like Monarch, True Draco, and Floo that all are archetypes first and Tribute Summon focused second, but for some reason Gemini monsters ALL need to be focused on Gemini as a whole. Like how Chemicritters made their field spell be like, "I NEED TO SUPPORT EVERY GEMINI MONSTER EVER" instead of just Chemicritters, which is good for Gemini but bad for Chemicritter since the entire deck was designed around the possibility that broken Gemini stuff might POTENTIALLY happen instead of Konami just letting it be good and isolated.

the most mystifying thing to me, and this was mentioned in this video, is the Yosenjus not being spirit sub-typed. they're perfect for it. as it stands theres only general spirit stuff like Yata, Asura Priest, and for archetypes there is the martial arts spirit pendulums and the Shinobirds. theres basically nothing going on with it the last several years.

It's pretty obvious that, if Konami has any brain cells whatsoever, the irl Armors (which WILL happen sooner rather than later, given the steady release of their anime backlog as of late) will prevent use of the Extra Deck - which would work great with the irl Seal anyway. There's NO WAY they'd allow THAT LEVEL of potential unintended Link spam (or Xyz, or Synchro, to a lesser extent) to ever exist.

Because they keep making cards with effects that could absolutely be Union or Gemini (like Dragon Buster Destruction Sword, or Noble Knight Gwalchavad), and have better versions of the standard effects for those types, but they just aren’t called Union or Gemini. For some reason.

I don't see a reason these can never be printed Just slap a line of text saying "This card is always treated as an 'Armor' card" onto each of their monsters so that their names can be the same, but they wouldn't need to introduce a new subtype into the game And then add about 18 once per turn restrictions onto each of the spells, as well as lock down the Extra Deck somehow That sounds crazy, but they already do that for a lot of their cards anyways

The point I'm trying to make is that these things could be feasibly brought out into the real card game, I'm not suggesting strategies that would work for the deck Saying that they don't need a lock because another card they could run already has a lock is basically the same as saying that Dragon Rulers have always been a fair and balanced deck because you could run Seal of Orichalcos in it to lock out your own Extra Deck. You're not wrong that it does that, but it doesn't solve the problem because they have the option of just not putting it in their deck

To double cloth armor credit, anime format doesn't seem to really allow one to read your opponent card So you just have to know/wait till your opponent tells you So in that sense it's effect does have some use in that context and that context only

TBH, I could see Armours being added as a new "Sub-Type". Some people want Deck Masters as the new cool mechanic but why not something like an Armour system that all equips effects to the player, that they can use. Armour cards get added to the "Armour Pile" and all the effects stack, provided they are all of the same archetype synergy. Using Armour to activate effects from the player or having small continuous effects. Also being able to declare an Attack with the player themselve against the opponent or their monsters. You probably couldn't build an anime around it although it would be fun to watch a bunch of duels be like Valon vs Joey, where the characters punch eachother to deal 2500 damage.

My FAVORITE out of these things... Ironically, some of the Spell support would be broken in modern day without any real restrictions. XD Yeah, you need that Psychic Armor Head to use them but... Holy crap. Summon 4 Armor cards from your DECK? For Freeeeeeeeeeeee? (✯ᴗ✯) No restrictions? (and I get to mimic Valon's English dub voice? Based) Also, Valon vs Joey was one of the most enjoyable duels I have EVER watched and still do today. By the end, it's like two guys just suited up in armor clashing with each other.

Buster pyle would actually be broken when it came out. It's basically just a slightly worse eater. It's better catastor on a normal summon 5 years too early. Not only would it be a mandatory 3 of on release, it would see play until well into ark v just as a stall and removal tool. Psychic head is just busted treeborn that would see play till at least 2014. The ring of destruction one is something I would guess would be banned, but would never really be good because it's a bit too restrictive. Good in a dedicated deck, a bit too restrictive to splash. The exiled force one would be used when it came out, and would be a mandatory 3-of in a dedicated deck, but wouldn't really see play. If you include the spells, this deck would just have been tier zero on release. There's a ton of bad cards, but an engine of those 12 monsters and the 9 good spells would be an unmatched removal and tribute fodder tool for its time. Without banlist hits, and even with erratas preventing use as synchro material, these cards would be a really solid engine well into the synchro era.

I have a few custom cards that might make geminis good. There called the geminimages. Spellcaster/Gemini/pendulum monsters who’s pendulum effects all do one thing: gives gemini monsters there effect (not until the end phase, until they are removed from the field.)

Video already touched on this, but yeah the anime-only meklord cards are a lot like Vylon's armor monsters. Aside from the support cards, the monsters have an added benefit over armors because some of the pieces automatically destroy themselves with their own effect if their "infinite" piece isn't on the field, which in turn lets you summon the deck's actual boss monsters fairly easily. Anyway, if you gave these armor cards (including s/t) the restriction of "can't be used to summon other monsters, except armor monsters" and tweak gravitation so it's not so good, then you could get away with releasing them. It'd be great if they had their own link monsters which made the full suit, might excuse putting the boots in with the right requirements.

In hindsight, armors might not be as good as it seems given we have the Kuriboh Brothers printed and they show that tons of advantage doesn't matter if you don't draw what gives you that advantage 50% of the time. The spell is less restrictive for activation, but it also only summons from deck while the kuriboh brothers come from anywhere.

I think a good way to adapt this archetype in a functional manner would be to have each armor component simply a its own power armor, but with the signature piece being what it's named after. This along with also just giving them good effects that work with each other to make a fun OTK deck. I think it goes without saying, but those spells would have to be tone down.

Would be make them Union monsters that can special summon a token if one does not exist and equip it with the union monster, it gains the following effect while equiped with this card "insert unique effect" if token is to be removed from the field you can send one armor monster equiped to it instead. it would be a unique playstyle, that could be fun

Compared to the last couple of Decks looked at this one isn't too bad. It's still got problems, but it's also got some decent and good cards here and there, so realistically by restricting the bad cards to one and using like 3 of all the good ones, and adding a few extra generic support cards like Monster Reborn and so on to fill up the Deck you could make a decently good Deck out of this, unlike the other Decks.

Hello my favorite anime deck. this deck was definately an odd duck, but really, its decently capable, and has only gotten better over the years, dated as the main deck can be. it's utterly carried by the spells, but the essentially feel i get of the maindeck is you essentially using your enemies boards against them using big bang blow and Buster pile, while the two knuckles poke the enemy if theres nothing. even before Link era the magic carried the deck due to possibility for XYZ plays, but yeah, they are made broken by being a link fodder deck. thing is, if the opponents not giving you anything to work with, then you can simply make them into something that WILL. so the modern era's toolboxing helped them a LOT. ...thing is ive seen more busted in the nowaday anyway. Full armor could have had great synergy if Seal of Orichalcos still had the backrow monster function, but oh well. since so many modern decks have individual monsters with hard once per turns that can summon themselves, most of the armors wouldn't even be that strange as a modern deck i feel.

the spell cards wouldn't be impossible to balance if they ever come to the real game. I can think of two good examples of cards that let you summon 4 monsters directly from the deck: -flower gathering, which summons 4 flower cardians with 100 atk from deck and locks you into only summoning flower cardians for the rest of the turn. -numeron network/numeron calling, which summons the 4 rank 1 numeron gates from your extra deck, but requires you to control no monsters to do so and only lets you special summon once more that turn after the effect resolves. honestly I think either of these approaches would probably work here too. either locking you into the (useless) armour monsters or being a strictly worse version of numeron due to requiring more garnets. the banish 10 spell would still be amazing in metaphys, I guess, since they activate all their banish effects on the next turn anyway, but honestly that deck could probably use the help.

So in regards to the effect of choosing the targets of your opponents' attacks, here's an example of a monster that can do it better from my own deck: Patrician of Darkness. Has 2000 ATK, 5 star monster, only effect is choosing monsters' attacks. Doesn't require two monsters to be on the field first that are the same type. I can use it to just stall an opponent's attacks by making them attack either one of my monsters that can't be destroyed by battle or one that has more ATK/DEF points. No need to redirect it into a monster I have with 0 points in either.

These cards couldn't even work in Duel Links. The attack redirection combined with the limited zones & battle effects means games would break fast.

Just add a "You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck while you control any monsters summoned by this effect." and a hard once per turn restriction to the spells and you're pretty much set tbh, maybe also require the monsters be different names and make Full Armored Gravitation banish the cards face down if you want to be safe.
