The comment above me says that the first two are pretty good so I’m sure it’s worth starting out there, but the 3rd installment is basically one of the best games in the entire franchise. So good that it’s pretty much recommended by nearly everybody as a start into the franchise as a whole.

So, I always made a concerted effort to follow Sun Jian to see what he was really up to before getting crushed by the boulder. Needless to say, seeing him that first time just collapse on the ground after the cutscene with the boulder was always amusing. Every time after that was for shits and giggles.
