This battle has us playing as Gan Ning here. He has the chain and scythe moveset, the same as Jia Xu. His musou's are pretty good though, and his EX is a grab so it's pretty good. It's also the freaking Izuna Drop.
The stage is Jing Province from DW6. It's a battle against Wei forces this time around, and they're pretty large in number. Luckily you get to land fire attacks on them to help you take them out, just lead them follow orders.
Now the CG cutscene at the end. This is the only time I cared even slightly about Zhou Yu's death. Hell this is the first time they even showed it. DW7 in general handles death scenes pretty well.

Historically, the battle of Nanjun was pretty even. Cao ren managed to hold them for a long time.

True, it lasted for a year. Cao Ren was a hard one, additionally, Cao Cao made sure to prioritize the defenses there.

After Zhou Yu took control of Nanjun, he was greeted with a trade request from Shu, most likely from Zhuge Liang, saying that they want to trade half of Jiangxia for Nanjun. Obviously Zhou Yu denied, because for one, it was an unfair trade, second, he worked his ass off for a year to take Nanjun. It was unfair since the land Shu was offering are poor lands with bad strategic points, while Nanjun is the capital of Jing province, the best strategic point in all of Jing province and the most valuable land, hence Cao Cao defended it so much. But Zhou Yu eventually succumbed to his illness. Lu Su, his successor, then accepted the trade, thinking it was better to be in good terms with Shu to go against Wei, that backfired eventually. Sun Quan though thought it was a lend, that he only let Shu borrow it, without putting the correct terms and conditions. After the failure at Hefei, Sun Quan demanded the land of Nanjun to be returned at once, but Shu declined. So Sun Quan plotted to take it to himself by force and aimed for Fan Castle. You know the rest.

Yeah the marriage was to lure Liu Bei into Wu territory to kill him, Zhuge Liang was aware of this and stopped it. Quan and SSX mother opposed this assassination and genuinely wanted SSX to marry him.
