IMO, a step in the right direction. This is clearly an experimental game that polishes out the gameplay, graphics & is inviting new players. The game actually feels immersive & the player can finally command the army while still killing 100s of enemies. This is starting to become what the franchise always should've been: a hybrid of hack-slash plus war-strategy. If they transfer some of these mechanics to the main game & thin out the roster so it can work properly, I think the franchise will finally be revitalized.

The story and the gameplay are thought out, however, the way that the player is brought into a commanding position by Cao Cao is hastily arranged. It’s indeed a brilliant idea to have the player being the unsung war hero, but without a brief backstory the player seems to assume an ambiguous and vague role in the story itself. The player should have been described as an illegitimate son of a warlord, who attempts to survive in the midst of raging wars between warmongering states.

This DW is more challenging than the previous ones. I cant mindlessly spam attack anymore. Enemy attacks actually require you to dodge and parry. Theyre attacks hurt too. I constantly find myself needing to heal. Love it.

I'm here trying to figure out how to actually beat the demo. My main issue is the same as always. Helping out on one side of the map, someone else needs help urgently, so I run to them... only for the guy I was protecting to die and it's game over.

Your character stats, the massive mini map, the health bars, the objective diamonds, the character dialogue (with opaque black backgrounds), the tutorial text, the enemy health bars, the animations as you perform attacks, the contextual popups. You can barely tell there's a video game under this soup.

Its my boy, but I do agree that the UI is a bit massive. Hopefully they will add more UI options to scale it down. There is currently an option to disable the HUD completely and its called "Immersive", but its pretty hard to play without knowing whats going on

It's natural to be like that with DW, but it will be better later always after your character have enough exp and level and get good equipment. Also fun fact is your allies will be better in higher difficulty if you can kill enemy quick enough because your allies last longer.

notice how strategy is actually neccessary in this game compared to previous games it was guided and simple. this new element really adds to the game itself. that you can actually lose on morale and map control alone instead of the usual because you died to a difficult fight. now its even more difficult cinematic and dramatic fights AND strategy! so now you really do have to look and command the WHOLE battlefield to achieve victory! yes! now if they have a nice upgrade system and weapon upgrades a lil rpg elements here and there and this will be one amazing game! with ZERO DLC APPARENTLY?!?!?!

I think it could be more dynamic. You could create your character (hair, face, sword, clothes) or use a predefined one and you should choose whether you want to be part of Cao Cao or Liu Be's troops and among others, you should have this right to choose .

I gotta say this is been long overdue. This game here is definitely headed in the best direction. The action is nonstop and relying on named officers is long gone with giving officers of unknown status and name a spot just to make it tougher for the player. Even on easier difficulties you can lose now as it doesn’t just count on player to killing thousands to win. If the player ignores the events this time around then defeat follows shortly and that’s awesome. Hope they keep riding this train for future releases.

Hope at least there's a controller layout option with R1, R2 triggers for Light/normal and Heavy attacks instead of just button smashing the Square and Triangle buttons. Question: Is there no breather or stealth in this game? Or is it from what I'm seeing continuously rushing through hoards of enemy soldiers? I quite like having stealth in a game so as to mix up hard action and sneaking stealth depending.

Idk if i want this yet ive never bought DW or SW as a stand alone game i have bought all the warriors orochi tho cause i liked all the characters together in one world and imo if we gotta have this only playable character i sort of wish they wouldve at least made the visuals more semi realistic this time around to show better quality for the series cause for me the gameplay and character roster is the main attraction of this series but if ima be limited to just this one character all game id like for better visuals to feel more interested in whats going on in the world surrounding this one character

Would be nice if you can change the field of view, its way up too close to my liking. And I believe in the older dynasty warriors, you can toggle on and off their hp bar. In this case, you cant unless you are really up close to the enemy.

please, if you have never played a musuo game before, try this game, I have been playing them for more than 10 years and I considered this sub genre of games as the best videogames can offer, is pretty much thousands of hours of fun and it gets better when you get good at it, and fear not, koei tecmo has made PLENTY of games in this genre with different series, like one piece pirate warriors or hyrule warriors

Most of the attack animations look really clean but the impact feedback is still lackluster. Personally i would rather have to struggle to defeat 100 opponents than easily tear through 1000 if it meant Omega Force could focus more ressources into adding frames to the getting hit animations for enemies.

really like the game Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors Orochi, Basara and Samurai Warriors. And I'm impressed with the character of the WEI king Cao-cao who looks younger as well as the best king, namely from SHU Liu Bei. If I were a YT-ber, I would play the game (get all the characters, personal items, the strongest weapons, the king's horse, etc.). If my hero is clearly LU BU, Cao Cao + all the female characters, this is My last comment, thank you, SHIRRAKO, you are the best. And again, I really want to go to the country (🇯🇵), I come from (🇲🇨).
