Delicious Tuning Part 2 follow up review to the tuning process of the Sprintex Supercharger on the 86Speed Toyota GR86. We go over the important part of dyno tuning, horsepower and torque numbers, of course. We then follow up with a review of daily driving while taking the SEMA car for a spin on California 91 Octane and Flex Fuel E85.

We have the car back and we all just drove it over the past few days - WOW. It feels like stock until WOT, Then its a Monster, we are dropping out first impressions video tomorrow. Since then We have put our sticky tires on and we re did the rear suspension and got the alignment dialed in for MAX tire contact - It still spins them but its much more grippy - Thanks again

I almost wish you guys used a smaller twin-screw and spun it faster to get more whine. Power be damned, I just want to hear the blower scream like I'm driving a Kenne Belle Cobra in 2006.

I have an auto GR86 and I wonder how the auto would hold up on this setup? It’s not a daily but if you could share some insight

As someone who didn’t know any better when at the dealership, I also bought the auto gr86 and I regret it everyday, but I was thinking of getting this kit to make the automatic experience better.

The auto transmission would arguably hold up better than the manual transmission with boost-autos use a Lexus transmission that held more HP/TQ than an 86 has stock. It’s a good unit and proven.

@@toxiclight9378I owned a first gen 86 auto and made sure to get the manual the second time around. It’s much more engaging imo and I wouldn’t buy an auto again. Still, the auto is still fine, just a different experience. I would just be thankful for what you have and keep it. If you ever get the itch, the auto is actually quite stout and can handle the additional torque of a supercharger. If you don’t believe me, you can check the ft86 forums.

You can't get much from a supercharger. If you went smaller pully for higher boost + E85 and new engine internals you can be near or around 400's whp I bet.

supercharger is not for peak power, its for linear torque and driveability. these make far more power on a turbo, k24 austin is pushing near 700 wheel internally stock.

I like the setup. I understand why you have that type of intake (closed box for better heat resistance) but I would love to hear it with an open filter. That supercharger is begging to be heard and that box is not doing it any justice haha. Awesome setup though and respectable numbers for 91 oct.

The gr86's intake box has the MAF sensor outlet angled like 35° towards the engine while the older 1st gen 86 has the MAF outlet 90° just like the Sprintex 3D printed MAF side air box. Is the 1st gen air box not compatible to lock into the Gen2 air box?

Good eye. The dyno says "flywheel" because it is Comparison Mode. That means this is what you would expect in a DynoJet Dyno.

So in your Instagram posts you refer to the results as WHP. Take for example the red GR86 that you tuned made 245"whp" on E50 but what you actually meant is 203 "true" whp?

Actually it would be 210, "true" whp technically speaking. But in regards to how the media portrays it, even DynoJet, that is a different story. All these media companies (D Sport, Motortrend, etc...) portray DynoJet as the standard for reading "wheel" horsepower, which it is not. It has a 17% correction factor added in, and why the Dyno Dynamics has a comparison mode.
