Dyrus played a super important role in playoff to help TSM dethroned C9. His dominating performance against LMQ Ackerman and C9 5ever sent shivers down my fking spine. I think he deserved to be called the Best Top NA for the summer split of 2014. Dyrus Best TOP NA? Yes Or NO? What do you think?

The entire reason I got into League of Legends was watching TSM vs CLG back in Season 2. The game was so exciting and I became an instant fan of TSM ever since that day. Dyrus is the reason I played top lane for so long. I hope he does well at worlds. I don't want to see him retire anytime soon, same with Doubelift.

Dyrus best top NA, I think it's the best joke I heard in a while. While he definitely improved recently, calling him best top NA is definitely overkill when you have monsters like Balls and ZionSpartan. During the C9 Serie, remember that Balls often came in lane with 2level behind due to "duo lane swap", and he was actually going even almost every time, or really close to be even.

Balls is arguable, Zion is not. Zion is good on strong 1v1 splitpushers (every LCS top laner is) but is nonexistent on anything that isn't.

Just because Dyrus doesn't make flashy plays like Balls/Zion or Voy, doesn't mean hes not as good. Dyrus is perhaps the most consistent top laners which is really what makes him one of the best top laners in NA. He rarely loses his lane, farms if not outfarms his opponents, provides massive utility for his team and is a HUGE threat once snowballed (e.g. Game 4 c9 vs TSM Ryze)

Dyrus being better than Balls is like a joke, honestly, get out of your TSM fancloud. Dyrus historically got shitted on HARD every single game he had to go 1on1 lane vs Balls. Dyrus had a KDA under 1 (0.8) against Cloud9 last split, including their single win against them. Dyrus is consistent, and it's definitely a good quality. He also definitely improved greatly, don't get me wrong on that. But he also consistently get crush by superior top laners. And I suspect it might be a reason why TSM never performs out of NA. And you said it; Mundo, Ryze. He performed on these champions. Ok, he farmed really well, but then what ? Not like they were mechanic-intense champions. They barely need decent positioning. Dyrus farms and build tank, that's all. Saying that everybody can do as Zion is irrelevant since we could say the same about Dyrus.

Once the camping stops, he farms pretty fast. It makes him a lethal top laner, to be honest. Imagine if he was ahead like 3 kills or so? TSM generally slaughters the game.

The one thing I've never got about the popularity of LoL as a spectator sport (YES I SAID SPORT) compared to Dota2 is that there is SOOOOO much time between events of interest. Example being 3:3 kill wise at 27 minutes. Aside from maybe a few mins of objective plays and a few teamfights you're basically sat watching dull farming/walking for most of the game. I love LoL, but only to play. Watching it is haaaard work for me.

Dyrus is the best top laner NA period, statistics don't lie and you can't argue against it. We all know why he's good, but here's why the other top laners are not as good as he is; Quas is in my opinion 2nd to Dyrus, he's always managed to remain a threat on his team no matter how much he gets camped. The big factor for this is his stats are among the highest when he's actually on one of the weaker teams when compared to C9, LMQ and TSM. There were stats like CS@10min, GPM, KDA etc and Quas was 1st or 2nd in most of these categories which is very impressive when a lot of this is affected by your team's performance as well as their own. Ackerman is actually very good and almost as good as Dyrus, but like Balls, he is inconsistent and when he loses lane he relies too much on getting carried because he can't remain relevant in the game by himself. Balls is inconsistent and usually can't bounce back to make himself relevant if he gets camped. He also gets camped by Meteos in almost every game to help him get ahead, Amazing ganks Dyrus once, maybe twice and that's only if he ganks for him at all. Zion is a great soloq player, in that he can only play splitpush 1v1 dueling top laners. Put him on almost any other kind of top laner and he performs worse than the challenger series top laners. Consequently his champion pool is pretty limited, and he can easily get banned out which isn't something 'best top NA' should have as an issue for them.

I would not say dyrus is the best top NA yet. But i would say that dyrus has shown he is not someone to be underestimated. Before this split no one really seemed to talk about him, because he was slightly lack-luster compared to other top laners. But now he has begun to show what he can do for his team, and really pick up the slack when need be. Mark my words Dyrus and the whole of TSM have a lot left to show.

Surely after worlds this year no one can argue Dyrus isnt the best top NA. Throughout the championship Dyrus has preformed extremely consistently without asking for many resources from his team, much like the regular season. While Balls has made fantastic plays and has turned up extremely clutch in some moments, Dyrus has been seen soloing players and initiating fights/getting picks himself.

However Dyrus played his ass off these playoffs and beat balls top lane (who i consider to be the best top laner na) the majority of the series. So, as of right now( this moment) I would say dyrus is playing better than everyone else. For right now......

I do agree Balls is just as good as Dyrus. But not better. Also they're better at diffrent things. Dyrus is the type of player in which if he gets ahead or just a kill. He'll start to snowball out of control, and in some cases carry his team. While on the other hand, Balls is a strong top laner both in his laning phase, barely ever giving out any free kills. Though when it comes to him getting an advantage, he doesn't use it as well as Dyrus when it comes to snowball nor carry. There you go. Next time try not to look like a fool by just telling us who's best without any reasoning or arguments behind it that could help you prove your point.

Dyrus helps more than you think. By him getting camped all the time (because the enemy team KNOWS they need to keep him down) he keeps the jungler in top freeing up pressure from the other lanes

SheltonShenanigans Yeah it's something like the Darien startegy but not as extreme. However turtle without Lustboy won't be that effective. He needs a stable support like him and Xpecial. Gleeb couldn't provide this not in laning phase nor in TF where Lustboy shines.

Dyrus gets camped so hard every game.... He's easily one of the best players on the team and when he's allowed to roam free without his leash, he takes off. Balls and Ackerman are also both excellent tops, maybe even mechanically better than Dyrus, but Dyrus knows his limitations and he does exactly as a top laner should.

Heesu kang There is more to the game than picking a carry and racking up kills. Consider this. At the end of the day there are only going to be so many kills in a given game. Having too many people play carry champions can be bad because now your splitting the kill money too many ways. Sometimes its better to have a solid player that can impact the game without playing carry champions. Also remember, that a solid initiation that lead to a carry getting a Penta is still worthy of professional status.The quarterback might be the star of the team but he aint shit without his line.

All these arguments about zionspartan, balls, and other NA top laners being better than dyrus is a joke. Every jungler camp's top when fighting TSM because they know dyrus will win lane, or end up snowballing out of control. Even all the other regions do it. What did SKT t1 focus on when they fought TSM? Camping dyrus. Now that they have bjergsen, and got rid of gleeb and replaced him with lustboy, I see TSM being the strongest they have ever been. It took them a little while to get used to lustboy, but now their bottom lane is strong, mid is strong, amazing is an amazing jungler ;), and dyrus is and always has been a super strong top laner. dyrus for best top laner NA 2014 is on point.
