I just bought and played it 10 hours straight today.. I can tell you for a fact that it’s pretty addictive once you get the proper items to upgrade. Of course being a survival game everything is basically repetitive but that’s just how it is. There are some items that are needed to be upgraded which is odd considering what you’re upgrading i.e. Machete requires Iron and Rubber and Iron is the most widely used item in the game and also a pain to get too. So far I enjoy it. Just finding Iron and then I’ll continue the story mode.

The best thing I can suggest is to get and upgrade the bat. It is very strong and is great for destroying many things that have iron. Once you can get machete or other bladed weapons strong enough, you need to use it to chop down telephone poles to get steel. It's a very nice system. You can't just get every resource you get with just 1 tool.

40 hours in and i love it. Things that can be simplified actually are and the time won is invested in exploration and little nuggets i didn't expect. Like fun little puzzles, defense mini missions or bits of lore. It has a lot of variation and late game it goes full on old school adventure game (gasmask...). Even the build you choose has impact, go sneaky or for a kind of tank. Just be prepared for a long game and focus on 1 weapon for wood and 1 for metal regarding upgrades and you'll be fine. It's very well thought out, gotta give em that.

It's an amazing hidden gem game. Simple graphics, basic combat and lots of unlockable tools. If you love destroying every single building, cars, street lights and walls, this game is for you.

I played it and finished it. Thought it was good but some of the items an unlocks come to late in the game to make an impact.

@Cleopetra yeah once you’ve unlocked all 20 tombs then done the pyramid you get khopesh. But by that stage you’ve pretty much done most of the game. You can ignore some parts of the game but it’s very linear in need to get certain items to enter certain parts of the map. I think that’s were it’s problems are.

The game doesn't end until you end it, and none of those items are strictly necessary anyway.

@Cleopetra If you think of this game more like Skyrim or Oblivion, then finishing the main quest doesn't have to be the same as ending the game. You can still go back and do the majority of quests.

This game feels made for people with brains wired in a very specific way, mine included. Just wish the aesthetics had a bit more style, but I also kind of dig how it looks like a mobile game ad come to life, but the game is actually the thing it’s advertising lol

Biggest complaint was the endless dead-ends. It’s just one massive maze and the map is horrendous. Just including a better fast travel system would have made the game so much more enjoyable.

Although at first glance it might just seem like a last days of earth or just a destroying simulator it's not although it kind of is the dopamine of being able to grind harder and build cooler stuff is very addicting and I would recommend this game to anyone pls play it and also great video man

Awesome video! Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have questions about Dysmantle: 1. Can you play the game in first person view? 2. I love the universal chest. Can we increase storage space? 3. Are there waves of animals, insects, monsters? Do zombies come in waves? 4. How big does the map get compared to the game Grounded? 5. Can you play with friends and build stuff? 6. I get that the radios roll out the storyline for you, but are they in anyway helpful? 7. What happens after you leave the island? 8. Are there special ways to fight the mob? Do they have a fighting strategy to figure out? 9. I know that food heals you, but can they increase your speed, durability, attack damage? 10. Isn’t the game a bit on the simple side? 11. What is the storyline that led to there being zombie mobs? 12. Can stay up all of the time and continue playing without using the campfire? 13. In Grounded, there were always 5-8 basic items that you can carry in order to set up shop anywhere. Does that exist in Dysmantle? 14. Are there skins to change into just for the aesthetic purpose? Hats, shoes, shorts, shirts, pants, bookbag? 15. Grounded has mutations. Does that exist in Dysmantle? 16. How does the farming ability compare to the farming in Grounded? 17. Creatures. Is there a detailed profile depicting their strengths and weaknesses? What weapons they are weak against? 18. Is there such thing as critical hits, perfect blocks, damage over time or heal over time that exist in this game? 19. What are some benefits of interacting with non-hostile creatures? 20. What are some “roadblocks” that you find in Grounded, that specifically don’t exist in Dysmantle? 21. Are there any underwater, underground or sky zones?

1) no 2) You don't need to. It's unlimited inside the chest. 3) no. They spawn around the map in fixed positions and wander around them. Similar to dark souls. You rest at a campfire and they all respawn unless you spend resource to stop their spawns. 4) it feels bigger than grounded because you have to run, but it has some fast travel. 5) no 6) after you listen to them, you can smash them for resources? So sort of? 7) you win. Game over. This will take forever. 8) yes 9) yes, various effects including stuff like fishing speed, gathering speed etc 10) sure. But that doesn't mean it's easy, or anything. Lifting an engine out of a car is -simple- but how many people actually do it? This is a ridiculous question, I feel. 11) play the game and find out. It tells you during the gameplay by listening to the radios. 12) technically, yes. 13) sort of? You can set up sawmills and furnaces to process stuff. 14) Sort of? They serve actual purposes. Not just cosmetic. 15) no. 16) it's actual farming. So much better 17) Kind of? There is melee damage, explosions, and ranged. That's it, as far as I recall. 18) yes, no, sort of, and yes 19) food, if you kill them. 20) um... you don't need to get quartzite because it doesn't exist? The games are -barely- even alike in that you collect resources. I suppose to actually answer this question would be to say that you don't need to worry as much about -types- of damage (EG: Salty, Spicy, Stabbing, etc.) because you focus more on -how- damage is dealt. (EG: Melee, range, explosion.) 21) no I hope this helps- but seriously. With this many in depth questions- buy the game. It's $20, and I have sunk well over 50 hours into it and have yet to finish the game. (I could leave the island and win, but I want to complete the end game collection to get the fancy power hammer thing so I'm grinding resources.)

I would say that about 95% of the "game reviewers" do some mediocre 3-5 minute review bullshit and it often baffles me how they think this type of timeframe is acceptable and informative, especially for some of the larger games they review. In most cases I skip their "reviews" entirely because it's not even worth watching.

This game looks like a mobile game ported to PC. Especially with that overly large and outdated "flash game" style UI. Under that lens, though, it seems passable, or okay even, for a mobile game. But a mobile game 9 is like a PC 4. Some games can port okay from PC to mobile, but it never really works well the other way around. Games designed for mobile target a totally different range of specs, on a conpletely different architecture, often on specially mobile optimized engines. There are just inherent limitations when porting to PC, short of basically doing a remake/remaster optimized for specifically PC. Even console to PC ports are often bad, and the hardware and features are MUCH closer.

You can go into every building and call it your house if you really want to, but your true "base of operations" is always gonna be campfires where you can invent and craft new gear, upgrade current gear, eventually cook, change clothing, store your components (until you get the item transporter,) etc.

My only real complaint is there's not a snap facing option for this game. So I could set RMB for the camera and do things like backpedaling from enemies without needing a lockon button. Other than that it's a fun game for what it is.
