I have the GHD and used to have a round brush, not dyson, but similar in the sense that both blow hair. To me, one of the biggest differences not mentioned here is that with the GHD, because there’s no air flow, the hair is not blown in different directions and therefore I notice a lot less frizz and more shine… for reference, I have fine thin hair and live a humid country ( I know, terrible combo!). I absolutely love the GHD tool

I also have very fine hair and live on humid place! My hair is also curly, so now I use the flat iron or the ghd glide… I have the Dyson and I don’t have good results… I think all air-stylers don’t work for my hair(idk why). How do you feel about the damage on your hair?? Do you think the ghd blow dry holds the humidity like a flat iron??

@@Magenta10144 honestly, i blow dry 2x a week and no damage at all. My hair is actually better than it ever was (i also use leave in conditioner, heat protection, oil after blow drying). And it holds well. I have the GHD platinum and use it only if i want to add curls. I’m really happy with the investment! I never used the dyson; tried it in store a few times but decided against after much research. I didn’t think it was better than the drybar that I had before. I hope this helps.

This is also my experience. I have both the GHD et the Airwrap. Without any hesitation, I prefer the GHD because it reduces frizziness. For those who don't have problem with frizziness and want more volume, the Airdrop would be a better option.

@@marijamance9529 I have both the GHD Blowdry and the Dyson as well, GHD is much better for style hold and smoothness on curly frizzy hair. Not quite flat iron level hold, but much better than Dyson. With Dyson, I walk outside and it can look like I didn't style my hair at all!

Exactly this! I’m sure I mentioned this at the start ‘duet blow dry doesn’t have an external airflow’ then held it up to my hair to show ‘it doesn’t blow the rest of the hair around’ And I agree - duet is better tension and perfect for smoothing frizzy/fluffy hair or curly hair Then the Dyson airwrap is perhaps better for volume!

I have both the Dyson Air wrap and the GHD Duet Blowdry and much prefer the GHD on my extremely frizzy, slightly curly medium thickness hair. The style I create with the GHD Duet Blowdry stays smooth all day, even in humidity. The Dyson puffs out and frizzes throughout the day, even if it looks equally smooth at first.

I find the same, dyson just doesn’t cut it for me. Maybe if you don’t have curly hair that can frizz?

I have had the same experience. I find I use the dyson to rough dry my hair then switch to the ghd. So happy with how ghd give such a smooth, shiny and extremely bouncy blowout.

I’ve just purchased this Airwrap id and also own one from 2021. The round brush in the id is substantially bigger than my original and I also own a small round brush attachment. The small is my favourite for creating curls. What I do like about the Airwrap is that if you change your hairstyle or length you the option of buying further attachments for £30.

I just got the GHD last week and I absolutely love it. I have chin length medium fine hair, and it gives me smooth volume that lasts all day. I’ve never tried the Dyson, but I’ve tried many other brands of blow dry brushes (varied price points) and the GHD beats them all by far.

Hey! Colour wow says on their website that you shouldn't use Dream coat and Xtra Large bombshell together. They have also said that Dream coat should be the last product applied to wet hair before styling (if using with cocktail and/or raise the root). Not sure why, just thought i would let you know so that you can look into it yourself and see if it will affect your hair/hair routine in any way. 😊

Wow very interesting - thank you I actually didn’t know this! ‘the two polymer technologies can counteract each other (i.e., Dream Coat compresses, Xtra Large expands) You can, however, use Dream Coat one day, then use Xtra Large on following wash days to style’ But you can apparently use Dream Coat for Curly Hair & Xtra large together, just apply the Xtra large first! Interesting I’ll have to use a different smoothing blow dry spray before I then use Xtra Large in the future - thank you 😊 x

You said the GHD isnt blowing out air. My concern with the GHD is that its not really using air to blow dry the hair, it's the brush/bristles that are getting hot and so isn't that more damaging on wet hair vs using a air/blow dry brush? Because its essentially using direct heat vs the Dyson which is blow drying the hair

So the ghd does still use an airflow (it’s literally like an in between of a hairdryer and the rise hot brush) but it’s not an external powerful airflow blowing outwards (there are no gaps in the brush where the air is coming out of) so yes it’s relying more on the heat from the barrel to smooth and add shape Dyson is that external powerful airflow so it’s relying on that external air to smooth and add shape Both apply heat directly to the hair (just a different kind of heat really) and the most ‘damage’ which could be done with any wet to dry product is how you use it actually So styling from soaking wet, ripping the brush through harshly, going over multiple multiple times when it’s already dry - these are the things which will damage your hair in the long run when using products like these That’s why it’s important to read manufacturers instructions on how damp the hair should be and how many passes/how long to hold on the hair etc. Hope that helps! 🧡

I got the airwrap on the beginning of the year, and I’m not satisfied at all… maybe because my hair is curly.. I’m debating if I get the ghd blow dry, is hard because such huge price tags!! My hair is thin, but with density, naturally fragile and I live in a cold humid place! I really feel that the airwrap was damaging my hair - every time I use my hair gets strangely dry, it even breaks when I pass my hands in it, is always full of little pieces of hair on the floor when I finish, and the style don’t hold not even for one hour! And I bought every attachment, my favorite was the normal air blow 😅 so I’m definitely disappointed, almost one year on the battle with the airwrap. I even came back to my ghd Helios and my hair immediately stopped breaking… I would love to see a tutorial how to get straight results with the ghd Blowdry

Wow this is a hard one then! So hard to say without seeing your hair, I wouldn’t want to say definitely duet blow dry is for you if you feel like Dyson airwrap always fell out (as I mention in the video - duet blow dry shape does fall out of my hair, I have to pin curl it up ideally) And ensure you’re using plenty of products with heat protection! If your hair was/is breaking off this is because it’s brittle so I’d recommend a moisturising shampoo and conditioner also and a hair oil Hope this helps!

ghd duet is 120C heated barrel with a gentle internal airflow, there is no ‘external airflow’ which blows the hair around Dyson airwrap (highest temp) is 150C with an external powerful airflow, however the barrel of the brush does not heat up - it’s just like a hairbrush So they work very differently!

I have both of these. They both look good after drying but the dyson frizzes/puffs up after a while. My hair is fine, damaged and wavy. It frizzes very easily.

They are completely different tools, seeing as duet blow dry is a round brush (so it’s good for some volume & bounce) and the Dyson airstrait is like a straightener/hairdryer So depends what kind of look you want!

I wouldn’t worry about damage and health of your hair with these tools - they are both lower safe temperatures to use on damp hair (proven and tested!) The main damage which can occur when using tools like this is actually the force people pull them through the hair (as hair is fragile when wet) that’s also why it’s best to style from damp and not soaking wet And try and go over your sections 3-4 times not multiple multiple times on each section Hope that helps and of course use plenty of products with heat protection in always, regular hair trims and all the other tips you need to do to ensure you have healthy hair 👌🏼

I’m sorry but it was hard to watch her rolling her hair in and trying to untangle lol. Julissa (KZbinr) does a great job showing how to do curls and releasing the hair not like this as she’s tangling it that’s why many people return these items due to hair tangling. 😳

Which part did the brush get tangled? I’m not sure it did? I showed 2 ways to remove: pinch roots and twist out and then in the diagonal section, keep rotating the brush as you’re gliding down… Anyways I’ll be sure to check out Julissa and see how she removes the brush!

@ it’s hard to describe sorry. But when you try to curl it and leave it in, then you’re untangling. Trust me I went through that too but thank goodness with a lot of practice and watching YT videos are a savior.
