Thank you for showing this on textured hair. I have 4a/4b natural hair that I love to wear straight, and I may go ahead and buy this item. I’m so love with my Dyson dryer, and it has completely changed the health of my hair. I can only imagine adding this iron to the mix.

The short battery life is what kills it for me. For $500, it should last long enough for one whole session on long hair without having to recharge or attach the cord half-way.
@daniel_s
@daniel_s 4 жыл бұрын
I mean you are totally right but you can always throw it onto the charging dock while your sectioning or brushing your hair. And since the batter charges from 0 to 100% in 70 minutes it should get you thru the session maybe

Dyson owes you at least $522 because I bought one after watching this review. I saw some videos from sponsored non-stylists and they made me certain I would just stick my tried and true SEDU flat iron. Most of them had straight hair already so it didn't help me see how it might work on my hair and more than that, many of them didn't seem to know how to use it and they came off disingenuous because when they passed it through their hair it looked exactly the same yet they raved about amazing the result was. So, they made me think this was a lot of sponsored hype. Thanks for your review because I need tools that will help not hurt my hair and I believe this will do that. #TheSalonGuyShouldBeSponsoredDyson

@@TheSalonGuy I Question does wired mode allow us to bypass the battery? Because the battery will age quickly; it is being used to generate heat after all. That is as abusive as you can get with 100% electricity inefficiency into heat.

I got this iron after I watched probably all videos and almost all suggested not to buy it because it is too pricey and heavy and there is a better alternative. But I though to try it anyway as a b-day present. So I have no clue why I watched this video, but I can admit that your opinion completely covers mine. So... I have long curly hair I bleached almost 2 years ago and since then I'm trying to keep it long and healthy which is very very hard. I try not to heat treat it because of that and when I do I can see the damage within a few hours. It was very very frustrating for me. With this iron I do not see any visible damage like before. The differences with my old iron are: 1. Yes, it is heavier but not damn heavy - if you cannot lift it and use it for 30 mins, please go to a gym. I expected very heavy tool, instead I was surprised how light it is actually. 2. I do 1 pass and my hair is like a mirror. With the old one I needed to do 2-3 passes. Plus with Dyson the hair is not that hot as with my old one and the hair doesn't escape off the plates, even if I iron large section. And I use the lowest temp setting. 3. I can do larger sections and it is as good as in smaller sections. It used to take me 40 mins, with Dyson I manage for about 15 to 20. 4. The battery is fine, it does last 30 mins. I manage with less than 1 charge. 5. It is expensive, but also the saloon treatment, the home treatment and all the "miracles" I buy to try to keep it healthy. If you have the money, buy it, I believe you won't regret it.

I don't think the Dyson wand is worth $500. There are other brands who sell for around $120 (and have sales) which last well and work very nicely with long, thick hair. Battery life will also diminish.

Good video, thank you! I have thinning hair due to thyroid issues. I have nice flat irons but I’m afraid of heat damage (I only use heat a few x per month but still). The other thing I heard someone else say on review is that, since your hair doesn’t get hot, you won’t sweat and frizz your other hair when straightening, and that is an issue I have. I know Sephora will have a 20% off at some point, but I still think discounted it’s very expensive! Decisions...

@@guitarhero760 i would say yes considering my previous straightener was the previous platinum plus. I find my ends come out better because it keeps the hair together. The ghd does do a great job but i find i have to pass over the ends quite a bit to get the right shape bc of my cut. They both leave my hair straight but the GHD leaves my hair little flatter. I like that the Dyson gives me straight with volume and you can take bigger chunks of hair. That being said, it is all what is worth it to you. They are both great i find the Dyson to be slightly better however those couple things may not be worth the extra price tag for some ppl.. for me two thumbs up

I have the Dyson AirWrap which was a total game changer in my life. Does this look any better than any other straight iron? No. He’s still using a comb so what is the point of the special plates? Plus, I don’t understand the benefit of cordless unless you’re traveling. But then if you add in the weight of it, and the price? Doesn’t make sense. At least they made a product that is dual voltage! Wish my AirWrap was... It flickers on and off just at home, with all the wattage it takes! (And my house is only 10 years old, good electricity.) Overall? Maybe it’s just the video but I’m not impressed with their flat iron.

@@aslhancanik5421 The airwrap was a game changer because I could never style my hair with heat before. I have thin curly hair that easily breaks. It takes me 10 minutes start to finish. I don’t have a ton of hair, though. I use the curling barrels around the front of my face, or just the top layer of hair, not all over or I look like shirley temple. The curls are really full and and airy and bouncy and shorten your hair a lot. It’s not like a curling iron curl. If you have strong thick hair, then yeah you probably don’t need those attachments. My favorite is the paddle brush attachment. It straightens my curls but leaves me with a lot of body where a flat iron gives me pin straight hair. It really does look like a professional blowout with a round brush. It uses a lot less heat and is so much less damaging than a standard hair dryer plus curling iron. I’ve had it two years and still love it. btw I learned to turn off all other appliances at my vanity and it doesn’t short out anymore. 😬

Airwrap deserves its price but I doubt Corrale should be priced like that. Maybe 250-300 bucks but cmon 550 bucks for a straightener/smoothening iron?!
