4:06 there's a way to improve that, you can use the DC07 pre motor filters (the sponge) as they fit in exactly the same. I've even used DC07/DC14 Post motor Hepa filters for DC33's as they also fit in exactly the same, except you have to use a pair of pliers and snap the tab off so the lid closes.

Personally I like the DC33 best. The new motor is so much quieter. I also made a hairline crack repair kit. I can send you a few if you want. Its a laser cut abs patch that you glue on and they never fail after that.

In the US the DC33 used the same motor as the 07 and 14 and those go and go and go and go and go. I think ours was 235 aw and for a while they had a sticker on it that said cleans carpet better than Shark Rotator. At least here most of them last a long time and don't break. The redesign was probably to make it lighter and cheaper but I don't like how it's louder and I always found the hose and one situation difficult to understand. Prefer the 41 much more over the 33.

Oooh the 120V DC14 was quieter than the DC33? Interesting! I would love a 120V DC14, that would literally be an absolutely reliable machine that keeps going! The DC41 is far better than the DC33 for sure, their wands don’t seem to flex much either compared to on the DC33 I wonder if the DC33 has less power than the DC14 due to the reengineered cyclone design to optimise filtration?

my parents used to have a DC33 right up until the moment i blew it up, i washed the filters and left them to dry for 2 days and they felt dry but it never sounded right and then spat flames out under the bin which was fun i got them a DC07 origin, combined with a cordless V10 it all works really well

Brother I too don’t like that plastic wand!!! It is NASTY!!!!!!! I can’t believe that they thought it was acceptable to ruin the range and added that when the metal wand was just right on the previous generations!

Never was a fan of the dc33. Although much better than the 27 it doesn’t feel premium like the 04,07 and 14 which were selling state of the art tech whilst this was old tech just rebadged as the dc 25 and later the 40 and 41 were the flagship models. Also those crappy slim fan motors seem to blow up for fun but not all of them got that just seemed to be a hit and miss thing, but the biggest thing like you say is the handle is just awful, not premium at all.
