This cov hose has the same gasket as the original: amzn.to/45x8lRc
This cov hose will work except you need to peel

Thank you for posting your how to COV replacement video. I felt the spring was the most difficult step in the replacement process, more so disengaging the spring but difficult putting it back too. End result, repaired, saved a trip to a repair shop, and expense for someone else’s labor too. Part was easily found on Amazon. My Dyson sucks again . 😊 - one less household tool that could have been headed to the landfill avoided.

Wondferful, thank you - just replaced mine, slighty different on how the spring clips in, was more fiddly, had to take the back wheel cover off too, so I could get fingers in to guide the spring end back into a litte slot, then it just clipped in. Easy enough, just have to be patient and take it slow. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this video as I was able to replace this hose. It would have taken 10 minutes if not for taking the spring on and off. It added another hour lol. It was very difficult and did not slip off and on as easy as yours did. It did not push on and off with my finger, I thought I was going to bend it. I had to use a small flat head screwdriver to push on and off. The post was notched somehow. My DC50 has a gold canister top, maybe a different design? Thanks again!

Great video. My giddy aunt...what a hideous job and not one many people would be able to do. Definitely need the right tools to start - the T8 screw was one not readily on hand. We found many of the pieces/parts difficult to access and manipulate and the job took wayyyy longer than expected. Excellent that we were able to break it down into the individual sections to complete. We are both pretty handy and when finished ... vowed to never ever buy a DC50 again!

This was a great video. It helped me fix my vacuum. My only wish was that you re-assembled in exact reverse order. My small screws were slightly different diameters, and evidently I flipped them. While my one hose screw is in there, it doesnt seem to have only lightly grabbed so I suspect I accidentally used the wrong one and bored it out. It's still holding, and if it does come out I'll find a fix. Other than that, really nice detail. Vacuum is running like new again.

Hi, great video but I'm still trouble shooting. I looked over a Dyson Total Clean vacuum, new hose, filters look good, no apparent obstructions in any of the hoses nor wand nor in the roller bar area itself. I'm not getting suction thru roller bar area nor at the hose handle. When everything is removed and I turn it on the Motor sounds good and at the top of the ball is very strong suction & air exits the side where the filter attaches. I feel no suction where the roller bar attaches. I have tried both handle positions (upright & down) I am baffled cause I see no obvious issues, the part you mention in this video appears to be in working order. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance : )

10:56 I am not 100% sure but ***maybe**** that clear ring from the edge (hold by pointing finger) needs to be removed exposing adhesive prior to pushing top part into the position allowing rubber with exposed adhesive to attach firmly and securely into the position also hold by aligned groves? (Just a thought, I could be wrong and ring adhesive attached clear plastic ring should not be removed)
@richardsvacuumcenter
@richardsvacuumcenter 3 ай бұрын
The ring is to make an air tight seal for the suction to not leak. It can be removed but that point will likely leak some suction causing a slight reduction in performance

The entire wand and hose are easily removed to check this. At the base of the hose where it connects to the ball there is a red clip that you push to release the hose. You'll need to take off the dust collection bin to see the red clip that you depress like a push switch. To put it back on just push the flexi hose back into position, you should hear a click when it seats.

Great video. I've noticed with a lot of these internal hoses and changeover hoses, that have breaks in them, that they are yellowed. I think the common problem is that people are using these for wrong application purposes and going to town on heavy soiled or slightly damp carpets that have been shampood and not dried properly or vacuuming animals slightly on the wet side or lack of filter maintenance. Another thing is, heavy smoking households causes this as well. I have a DC 43 upright, which was properly maintained. Never vacuumed drywall, filters maintained, never seen moisture for the most part. And never vacuumed oily substances like spilled coffee grounds in the kitchen or even sticky sugar particles which can chemically take their toll on plastics. Moderate vacuuming is good. Proper shampooing of carpets should also take place so no dried chemical residues get left behind. I've maintained a lot of Dysons and most households have super heavy carpets and they rent out shampoo vacuums like rug doctors and don't do a proper initial cleaning. Dysons should never be used in finishing jobs of shampood carpets. If any residual chemicals go through those cyclones this could centrifuge unwanted gases out of the residual chemicals used. Hence cyclone separators are also used or were used in the coal and gas industry to centrifuge not only harmful particles out of the air but also gases. Cyclone separator technology is also used in the perfume industry to extract essential oils out of plants. I've never seen this issue in properly maintained uprights and my DC 43 is a circa 2012
