One of my favorite late game factories is an automatic sorting system. I put down a big box and have it feed a circular belt system that spreads out to a grid of towers that are all set to supply. So whatever gets into my inventory for a task, I just go over and drop my inventory into that box... and eventually it all gets put into towers and distributed out to where it might be needed. I do make a mirror factory where everything I might want is pulled into a tower and I have a small line of boxes where I can pull out ready stock to go and build ... another factory, or maybe just an adventure to another planet to add more mining... always adding more mining in the late game. I've got over 1200 hrs into this game... WOW. anyways....

The two mystery copper appeared on the belt because you copied a storage box with the sorter attached. It grabbed two copper before you deleted the pasted sorter, but you didn’t notice until you placed the new sorter and the copper popped out on the new belt.

It's so hard to try to think far into the future. For example the paint, you have to know that you are going to use it and then plan for it. Although I just like order in my builds. I may rebuild everything I have. So then i can use paint more efficiently. Its good to not think about it as well and just go with the flow like you though. Loving the series!

It does show the recipe at @27:15, it's just at the very bottom of that info box. And at @37:12 the coppers got into the box when you copied the box with an inserter and the inserter picked up two copper before the box was deleted.

I believe the rare resource achievement has to do with ore viens, not gas extraction, so you just cant get the fire ice from ore, gas giants are fine

35:00 Sorters can probably only be placed parallel to the grid. And that make sense as it takes more programming to make it work diagonally. Belts are the only objects I( think) that can be placed diagonally and that wasn't in the game originally. Maybe sorters that work diagonally if we can place more objects not parallel to the grid. 37:00: When you placed a box to put motors on the belt you copied a box including a sorter and that sorter took some copper. Then you removed the sorter, placed another one and the copper was put on the belt. Pretty obvious. I get the feeling you are repeating the old mistake of playing DSP too fast and not paying (enough) attention to what is happening. 37:00 was a good example. Other examples are machines not working because of missing power poles and machines/extractors/refineries not working because the drones didn't got time to place the belts. Not only in this episode but also in previous episodes. I stopped watching the video at 37:20 because it was too frustrating for me watching you play. Could you please slow down, your DSP content is great if you take the time and pay attention to what you are doing.

part of the "fun" of watching her DSP is in the glorious mistakes. It's frustrating sometimes, but I think she has a plan for the commentary and the game play doesn't always fit the plan. Enjoy!

I played this when it first went into early access. When I had too much oil as a temporary solution I would just delete and replace the tanks to instantly delete all of the oil. Has it been changed so that it goes into inventory or drops onto the ground or something?

It always fell on the ground. You might be thinking of Factorio where stuff is just deleted.

It was definitely DSP. For both oil and pre-fractionator hydrogen I would build a stack of tanks and delete/rebuild the stack making all of the unwanted material vanish in seconds. What happens if you do it now? Is there a massive explosion of items on the ground?

You seem to favor painting products just before they're consumed. Wouldn't it be easier to paint them right after they're produced so that thereafter, wherever you need them, they'd be "pre-painted"?

Depends on the assembly. I paint most products directly after assembly. But I don't paint ores out of the ground because that would be inefficient.

As I was told when I said this on a previous episode, there is no net increase when you only have mk1 paint since you only get one extra usage when you paint the paint.

The upper most oil seep that you built a oil drill on is not powered. Also, the blue chips are going into a box so they wont get to make the gold processors until it reaches its limit, you might want to move the blue chip box to the end.
