Super helpful video, thank you! Replaced trigger on our V10 for £5 instead of several hundred ££ for a new Dyson so very happy!

Great video. Really helped. Cant believe how easily you got the 2 big wires through the "tricky part" that step nearly broke me. Got it in the end after viewing you doing it about 30 times.

Sometimes even for me it’s tricking . In the video I just got a lucky angle. Glad you got it in the end.

Thank you for a very helpful video. Replaced trigger on our V10, found it super fiddly but got there in the end. Shame Dyson doesn't install a more robust trigger in the first place, everything else is so easy to replace.

Thank you! Really clear instructions on how to fix the V10 trigger. I thought mine was a goner, but after following your video it works perfectly! Spent maybe ~30-40 bucks on tools and replacement parts vs. 500+ on a new vacuum.

This video was easy to follow; I successfully replaced the cracked trigger piece with a metal one, so hopefully will never have to do this again. Thanks for the assist...saved me a trip to the vacuum repair shop, or from replacing my Dyson.

Great video. Ordered a part from a seller that appeared to come with the required torx tool, nope it was a t10 so had to go buy a kit with a t8. Side note , on my v10 the batter has to be installed before the trigger pops out and become functional.

Thank you soooooooo much for commenting this!!! I was looking for replacement springs till I noticed your comment that the trigger still appears to be broken until you out the battery back in

Thanks alot, worked perfectly and easy to follow. I had the model with the silicone so that was a pain but managed. Thanks again

amazingly helpful thank you so much! only issue i had was removing the cyclone which needed a good yank, did not go out as smooth as yours did. apparently it would have been good to replace the spring as well while i there as the trigger now works but does not bounce back shut i need to pull it in place.

Did you tighten the screw that holds in the trigger assembly where you put the battery in? Try it and get back to me.

Great video, all went to plan except the trigger doesn’t pop back when I release pressure. ( I superglued the break it as seen on another KZbin “how to” and it looks OK) so now I’m not sure if it’s worth buying a new trigger or if there is something else going on. Some advice would be helpful. As others have said your instructions are great. My machine hasn’t been used much and was very clean, I can’t see anything else that looks different to the video.

Hi there , replace the trigger don’t clue it. You can buy a trigger for $10 online.

Great easy to follow video, however I followed all the steps and replaced the cracked trigger but now it won’t turn on when I press it after assembly. Is there a step along the way I can attach the battery to check my work?
@TheVacuumDocАй бұрын
Make sure all the wires are in the right place on the board and the filter is on probably

@@TheVacuumDoc Turns out one of the prongs in the trigger assembly that goes into the battery was slightly bent from when I pulled it out with pliers. I bent it back into place and everything is working perfectly. Thank you for such a great tutorial!

Thanks for the great video, it made the whole process really easy! I do have a new problem though; the mode toggle switch (the one that changes between boost, normal and eco) doesn't seem to function anymore, the vacuum only ever runs on boost. I've tried opening it up and reinstalling the little board that goes under the switch but it didn't change anything. Any idea what might have gone wrong?

Make sure the wiring on the motor is in correctly . Make sure the chip on top of the motor is in correctly and not damaged.

I am having an issue that it is always on now or hardly touching the trigger turns it on and it stays on even if I take my finger off the trigger. If the battery is not on all the way, it almost works properly, but when I put the battery back in all the way, it just stays on. Any suggestions?
@TheVacuumDoc8 ай бұрын
Hi there , I mention the issue in my trigger repair video . It means the the trigger assembly is failing out , it’s the case from dropping it a lot .take out the battery and look inside the handle assembly, there is a screw in there . Try and tighten it with a t8 torx screw driver . If it doesn’t fix your issue , you’ll need to replace the handle assembly.
@Chillichote4 ай бұрын
@@TheVacuumDoc Hi I have the same issue. I replaced the trigger. When I insert the battery at the it turns on and keeps on running. I checked the screw and it tightens without any issue but it doesnt fix it. It wasnt broken during assembly. What other issue could it be?
@TheVacuumDoc4 ай бұрын
@@Chillichote you haven’t either assembled it correctly or the screw holder has a crack in it that holds in the battery assembly.
