Schools should buy these hand dryers in order to save money on paper.

Hello Dyson. I have one of these hand dryers & it doesn't switch off. It is permanently blowing air while connected to the mains. Do you know what the issue could be? Thanks.

Looks like a significant improvement. It also prevents the build up of grime in the "catch area" by eliminating it - given how often rest rooms are cleaned, this shouldn't be a problem. I'd love to know the relative difference in efficacy vs. the current air blades in the field.

+Si Labi Labi (LabiLabi) Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. The HEPA filters in Dyson Airblade hand dryers are engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. However if a machine under particularly heavy usage in a high traffic washroom does need it's filter replaced, this is quick and easy to do. You can see video guides for replacing the filters in Dyson Airblade V and Airblade Tap hand dryers in our official playlist here: kzbin.info/aero/PLDfU9nMES75NJow4gcPVYZY3gePtodS8k

These do not work. My workplace has these and the sensors flat out do not work properly. If you move your hand even just the bit away from where you guess the lasers are, the entire thing shuts off.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. The sensors used in Dyson Airblade hand dryers are engineered to work responsively, so the dryer runs when it's needed, and shuts off promptly after use to avoid wasting energy. If you've noticed a particular Airblade dryer that you don't feel is working effectively, please reply to let me know where this machine is installed so our Airblade team can investigate.

Since I posted this original comment, the sensors at my workplace have been fixed/improved so it doesn't shut off the second your hand moves a couple centimeters from where you guess the sensors are pointed. Maybe someone complained and they were adjusted.

... With that kind of money why don't you just hire someone to dry your hands for you?

Good, but abit over-engineered. only "posh" places would by this. New conventional high power hand dryer is efficient enough to dry hand in 10 seconds.
