After under a year of pushing boundaries, it only made sense to us to further expand into esoteric electronic compositions, and the result is “Idiosyncrasy Vol. 1”, Unbeyond Anthologies’ foray into the world of IDM/braindance.
The compilation opens with the energetic “Rewind (Back In Time)” from newcomer Dyspro, plunging forward with rapid-fire synths and angelic melodies set over frazzling drums. It’s followed up by S0MBRA’s contribution “Signal 804 (The Rattle)”, which cranks the jazz up to 11 with mind-boggling percussive patterns, a mixture of spritely melodies and ominous atmospheres, all brought home with an instantly infectious bassline.
Label staff Pulsar debuts on the label with “ahead24”, which soars through dynamic chopped breaks and surrealist synth work, creating a unique, throwback IDM vibe. The Nilk dives into chiptune-driven house beats on “Derelict”, bouncing along with effortless flows with a hint of tension. Ojela presents a dense and atmospheric drum & bass leaning track with “Horn”, one that flows out with vibrant synths in all directions, and the compilation is closed by Stellar Dendrites with the brooding, atmospheric “unwelcome (out of bounds)”, featuring the most jittery breakbeats of the entire compilation.
Establishing its role as outside-the-box thinkers in the underground scene, Unbeyond Anthologies are thrilled to unleash these six cuts, a promise of more mind-frying music to come.
