I watched Oz over 10 years ago and pretty much all i can remember is the unparalleled anxiety I felt anytime Adebisi was on screen, he was so unpredictable, sadistic and violent lol and the scene in which he begins to hallucinates and dance in the prison kitchen after killing some dude still cracks me up, the actor was brilliant in that role for sure

I have a very strange connection to Adebisi.. I watched Lost a long time ago, and always thought the actors character in the show was very cool - I ended up in jail after going through a very bad stretch of life and ending up miserable and on drugs.. in jail, while I was put on watch for suicide because I was in the middle of losing.. everything. My girlfriend cheated on me with my best friend, my dog had been diagnosed with cancer, and I was going through severe withdrawals.. I couldn't stop crying, and they put me in isolation. While I was in there, all the pain I felt, all the loneliness and degradation, I only found one thing comforting.. replaying episodes of Lost in my head. One thing that comforted me, was the actor for Adebisi saying, "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. Thy rod and thy staff comfort me. You made me to lie down in green pastures, and lead me beside still waters. He restores my soul." I asked the guards if I could have a book, they said no, so I asked if I could have a Bible, and they brought me one, but I hadn't opened it or even really looked at it really at all, I was actually just laying with it under my pillow because the pillow was such a piece of crap, and I decided to open it after thinking about that verse, and I opened it directly to that verse... Psalm 23. It was unreal. It made me feel like I wasn't alone, and it was the only thing that brought me any kind of comfort. It was brand new when I got it, never opened.. I still have it in my closet, as a kind of reminder of what I went through and where I am now. I still have my doubts about what's real and what's not, but I can't help but feel like I've had a couple of moments where God told me it was going to be okay.. I still can't say it with certainty, but it does comfort me to think that it's at least a possibility. Watching Oz all of these years later almost feels like a past life. I feel so immersed in the world, and it almost feels like something that I'm remembering as I watch it. Almost like a glimpse into the life I could have lived, versus the life I'm living for now.. Lost was all about the afterlife, in a twisted, weird way - but Oz is all about the cruel reality of the world we live in. This duelty really hit me in an existential way.. life is a difficult thing to understand. If anyone read this, I hope my experience and my words have helped you in some way.

Adebisi reminds me of what Sin City's Dwight said about Marv; that he would have made for a natural gladiator in his day. It's almost impossible to change a force of nature, look how easily he dispatches his opponents -- like swatting flies and being bored doing it. Then, when he DID change and decide to trust Said, he died for it.
@cun7us11 ай бұрын
He never decided to change really, that's why he fought Said because he messed up his plans for Emerald City. There was only one time in the entire show where he changed temporarily, which is when he meets Jara who manages to make him behave like a true African. We're led to believe he's done with gangster life but really it's all an act to take out Nappa and gain control again. Adebisi was super cunning and smarter than people gave him credit for. The only problem is that he was on a destructive path which inevitably led to his demise.

Funny enough Adebisi would’ve been much safer for Beecher- since as long as you don’t get in way for power, he’s not gonna hurt you. In fact he values smart individuals more than anything

There were a lot of good characters on the show but O'Reilly & Adebisi we're the best characters. Every episode they had a trick up their sleeve. And they always had something hilarious to say.

I ended despising O’Reilly because of how he ruined his brother. Makes him brain damaged, gets him put in jail for killing the nurse’s husband, and he then gets executed.

Both were my favourite or should I say watchable characters. F*cked up and despicable certainly though. Oz was an underrated show that truly set the blueprint.

I don't know why but I find it so funny how Adebisi just starts choking Kenny 9:52, he was almost as much of Adebisi's bitch as Schibetta

Man I loved this show I just really disliked the last season but this show will forever be one of the best in my book

Honestly season 4 was the most annoying. I felt they dragged it out too long since it has the most episodes. OZ season 1-3 were a masterpiece. Season 5 was decent and 6 was eh

Lol the guy checking his arm though. Never noticed but now thatI’m old enough, this is nostalgia. Very much reality creeping in. Should be proud for creating a situation to get that performance. Man knows and the camera panned lol.
