I ran my peach brandy last wk. I used 5 gal. of peaches with 10 lb. of sugar. it is the sweetest peach flavor I've tasted. I'm aging it with a combo of 5 different charred woods. i hope yours comes out good.

I'm looking into making a run of peach brandy soon. If I may ask what combo of woods are you using? I'm thinking of using light toast oak,pecan,and hickory on mine. Would love some more ideas

@@chvfd687 go for it. try as many different combos you can. i bought a pack of smoking chips from Cabela's. it has apple cherry peach and maple. i have oak from my brew shop. the best so far is maple cherry and oak. it tastes like G~ma"s basement with a touch of a camp fire and a sweet after taste.

Hey, Randy, I enjoyed the video! If you need a clear wort sample for measuring SG with a refractometer, get a small mesh kitchen sieve with a handle and push it part way into your mash.

Sounds good, I think it should be barley, peach, oat in your description. It was mostly barley. Don't get me wrong my favorite whiskey is barley dominant. Keep up the great work and dedication. You have been pretty consistent with putting out content. Thank you brother!!

Is there any usable alternative to rice hulls? They seem to ease things up a lot, but hard to get around here.

Hey Randy I cooked 5lb of cracked corn in about 10 gallons of water and used amylase enzyme powder and got a finished hydrometer reading of 1020 with no added sugar does that sound about right to you
@stillworksandbrewing3 жыл бұрын
You should get near 25-30 points per pound per gallon so it looks close I would add some sugar to boost up to 1080 I use a rule of thumb is 30 point per

Looks to be fantastic my friend !! I haven't been doing anything here as work has gotten in the way of fun. That said, being self employed through out covid was a lot like unemployment, so I will take the work and the paycheck. ( finally and thank God, ha ha ) Drop you an email at some point just to catch up briefly, as I know you are busy. -- den
