My mom had Freaky Tales and I remember sneaking to listen to it, years later 3 Strikes comes out in 99’ and that’s the first time seeing E-40 and I was like “Idk who the hell he is but I like his vibe. Then 2004 (I was 14) came around and “One Night Stand/Gasoline” came on BET and I was like “Yooooooo that’s the same dude from 3 Strikes” and I was geeking. Then Fight night 2004 had “Hyphy” honestly I didnt put 2 and 2 together but I knew it was a slap. Then 06’ (16) “Tell Me When To Go” dropped and I went to Best Buy and copped that then I was ten toes deep into the Bay’s music... then I realized how much I missed out on so I YouTubing anything Hyphy and Thizzz. Vlad came out with “Ghostride The Whip” documentary and no lie when they talked about Dre I shed tears with F.A.B because I fell in love with the culture so much I thought I was apart of it, I’ve watched the “Go Dumb USA” DVDs. That song/album came out after Dre died. I don't even know if 40 and Dre were rapping in the same studio for that song. Now I still believe 40s story but what you mentioned, one song collab post death, does not clear this up. 40s word does though imo.

@@RaiderJoe yeah I mean 40 addressed there was a bit if issue where 40 and Dre had to kinda have their homies backs which put them at a bit of a beef but was never direct beef. great interview...as a longtime listener and fan i'm so very glad 2 hear e-40 clear up exactly why there was no direct beef with mac dre, which inadvertently began any fan suspicion drawn when mac dre was killed and fans had to endure because of facts such as what e-40 points out here, that he had BEEN into "hypy" and had every right to take full advantage of the wave/movement...💯 ...still wonder why no e-40/mac dre compilations...simply not enough time to reach that point? 🤔

The reason why Some of the OG crest folks don’t like 40 cause he stole some of their style, Slang etc.. you don’t gotta be from the 707 to know, just the bay. The Crest started that cuddy talk. Ghost riding the whip, thizz face. Hillside had they own talk. Mac mall sided with 40 cause that’s his cousin which led to Mac Dre dissing Mac mall. They squashed it before he passed & he ended up on “da us open”. I knew all of this before The interview on Thizzler with dubee. I like 40 and I’m not from the 707 & it’s not my politics but that’s what folks in 707 have been saying & the bay always knew.
